Box 21 San Antonio, Texas 1 Employment problem I worked for seven months ith a local contractor.

He paid me full cash because he said I was sub-contracting. He took out no income tax and no social security. I now am told by others that what he did, and I guess what I did, was illegal. I was told I actually should have been considered an employe. I discussed this with my former employer or whatever he was and he told me I never worked for him and that he would get me in trouble if I ever said anything to the tax people.

I paid my taxes as I should have, but did not pay any social security. Can you find out. if what this man did was illegal and if so. should I report it? WORRIED From what Action-Express can gather, this contractor is in violation of the law. A lawyer said there are many type jobs where people do act as their own agents, selling for example, but from information supplied this does not apply to the man you worked for.

doubtful you will get into any trouble because you paid your federal income tax, although you are advised to check with the Social Security Administration to determine how much you should pay there. It will be strictly your decision as to whether or not to report yoir former employer to federal authorities, but Internal Revenue Service officials indicated they are extremely interested in your case. Useful work 1 have a vacation starting July 4 through the 13th. I would like to use my vacation time by doing something useful. I want to volunteer myself as a counselor, helping out in some camp.

I have been a counselor before and have had training through the American Camping Association. The last counseling I did was two years ago. I would be pleased if I can help in any way. ELEANOR G. WEAVER Eleanor Weaver said she has no phone at her home, but she can be reached at noon at her work.

Help offered You had a column item several weeks ago about a 13-year-old boy who had a pacemaker and was lonely because his condition deprives him of being active like normal children his age.

My grandson has several expensive games, which he would like to give to These I feel would bring in a group of playmates to help make the time more pleasant for this young man. When I called the phone number hoping to contact Mrs. Horner, I was told the number was now assigned to someone else. Can you locate this woman for us so we can help Bobby? M. G.

VOIGT Action-Express was unable to find Mrs. J. B. Horner. It is not the J.

B. Horner listed that lives on Robinhood Place and the phone directory lists no one else by that name. Other efforts to find this woman and her son have been futile. Anyone knowing where they are should either call Action-Express or call Mr. Voigt at 822-1674.
