Risinger, County Agricultural Agent, has issued a report on the cotton insect situation in Collin County. The report contains information supplied by Jeff Christie, Collin County BIG (Blackland Income Growth) entomologist. Frederiksen, Texas plant pathologist. First discovered by researchers about a year ago, the new race of Shpacelothecareil- iana, causative organism of head smut, has been identified in six Upper Coast and Coastal Bend counties of Texas where grain sorghum is a $15-million industry.
