Paul Pfeffer, Wesley, Will Wed, August SARA WELSH WESLEY - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Welsh of Iowa City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Jane, to Paul Edward Pfeffer, son of Mrs. Pauline Pfeffer of Wesley and the late Dr. L. L. Pfeffer. The wedding will take place August 20 at St. Patrick's Catholic church In Iowa City. The bride-elect graduated from Regina high school In 1960 and from Marycrest College In Davenport in 1965. She teaches first grade in the Davenport public schools. Her fiance is a 1960 graduate of Garrigan high school, Algona, and a 1965 graduate of the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he is presently attending the college of law. Shop Sold Mr. and Mrs. Don Zlttrltsch have purchased the Kossuth Radio Shop, owned by Mrs. Milton Dahl, •who luurcarried on the business since the death a few years ago of her husband. The business will now be know as "Jan and Don's House of Hits." Elevator At BurtHoldsA Dollar Day BURT - $2 bills were given away on each cash sale at the annual "Dollar Day" observed at the Burt Cooperative Elevator Monday, The 305 friends and patrons registered also consumed 45 dozen doughnuts, many, many bags of popcorn, pound after pound of peanuts and gallons of coffee and milk. March 15. Parents of all children who will be five by Sept. 15, 1966 are urged to attend and are reminded to bring their son or daughter's birth certificate and health record with them. - o- 0. E. S. SCHOOL A school of instruction will be conducted for officers of Kossuth Chapter, 0. E. S., March 12. Mrs. Fred Shilts, Algona, district instructor, will conduct the school. A luncheon will be held at 11 o'clock for the officers, courtesy candidates and guests. Committee in charge of the luncheon will be Lillian Fredrickson, Gladys Hawcott, Maree Bahnson, Ruth Alice Patterson and Viola McDonald. Work will be exemplified at 8 p. m. in the evening with four candidates to be initiated into the order. - o- Members of the Past Matrons Club will meet at the home of Jessie Miller In Algona March 10. Assisting hostess will be Trella Patterson. Gladys Hawcott and Millie Klamp will be In charge of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schatz and Kevin, Cedar Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Thomson, Michelle and Scott, Iowa City, spent the weekend at the parental Al Hinckley home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dana, Ames, and Patricia Schwletert, Des Moines, spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Schwletert. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Miller were Sunday guests of Mrs. Betty Miller and family. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bonnstetter went to New Haven, Iowa Wednesday where they attended final rites for her grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Plunkett. Mr. Bonnstetter was one of six grandsons acting as pallbearers. Sunday dinner and afternoon guests of Mrs. Esther Miller were Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Klleber, Michelle and Kristi, Humboldt, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Miller and sons. Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Bonnstetter, West Bend, were Sunday afternoon and supper guests at the home of their son and family, the Don Bonnstetters. Bernie's Market, Burt, held a grand opening Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
