fOURTEIH THI DAILY TIMES nODAT. DECEMBER ISM. PREDICT FARMERS TO GET LESS FOR MILK Government To Support Prices New Program Will Start Next Spring Washington A slight drop in prices paid farmers for milk appears likely as the government prepares to put into opeiation a new price support program for manufacturing milk and butterfat. The Agriculture Department prescribed a new support piogiam for the 15-month period starting next January which will support the of all milk through purchase of manufacturing milk and butterfac. Most of the features of this year's program are retained except that prices for cheddar cheese and butter have been lowered two cents a pound.

The new program, however, is rot expected to begin working until next spring when large puichases will be started. Prices will be maintained at a national average of approximately $3.07 oer hundredweight for manufacturing milk of 3.95 per cent butterfat and approximately 60 cents per pound for butterfat. Agriculture put the program on a 15 month basis as to extend through the next full market year for dairy It said it would offer the following prices on carlot purchases of processed dairy products: Cheddar cheese.
