OXYGEN MA RKETB ASKET ---------------Food Prices Down 1.3% Obituaries in October Kastner Kappert Kastner, 76, of Schryver Steet, Port Ewen, died Sunday at the home of her daughter following a long illnesa. She had been employed by Skyline Manufacturing until her retirement several years ago. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, the Maen- nerchor und Damenchor of Kingston, and the Town of Eaopus Senior Citizens. Bom June 18, 1900 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lydia Wenzel Kappert. Surviving are: her husband, Martin P.

Kastner; a son, Manfred Kastner of Stone Ridge; a daughter, Doris, wife of Walter Vogt, Town of Ulster; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will he held at Keyser Funeral Service Kingston Chapel, Albany and Manor Avenues, Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Rev. David C. Gaise, DD, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, will officiate.

Burial will be at the discretion of the family. Bowles Mrs. Gertrude S. Bowles, 81, of Silver Springs, formerly of New Paltz, died at her home Saturday following a short illness. Bom in New Paltz July 14, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Irving D.

and Elizabeth Rider Sutton, and was a graduate of the State University at New Paltz. She attended Columbia University and NYU, and was a member of the New Paltz United Methodist Church. She was a retired principal in the Tarry town School System, and was married to the late Frank Bowles. Surviving are: two sisters: Mrs. Helen Smith; Mrs.

Marian Christensen, both of Silver Spring, and several nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Pine Funeral Home 124 Main New Paltz, Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Robert Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Lloyd Cemetery.

McCloskey Mrs. Katherine McCloskey, 80, of 99 Harwich died Sunday following a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of this city, she was the daughter of the late Samual and Theresa Murray Buchanan. Her husband, William McCloskey, died in January 1974. She was a charter member of Joyce Schirick Post Auxiliary.

She is survived by: three daughters: Miss Catherine McCloskey, at home; Mrs. Edward (Eleanor) Cappiliino of Highland; Mrs. Vincent (Theresa) Schrader of Kingston; seven sons. William Francis Gerard Robert Michael Phillip and John J. McCloskey; a sister, Mary Buchanan, all of Kingston; 16 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Frank H. Simpson Funeral Home, 411 Albany Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., thence to St. Joseph's Church, where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be sung. Burial will be in St.

Mary's Cemetery. Rode Vivian G. Rode. 82, of 6 Nevins Ellenville, died Saturday at the Community General Hospitlal in Liberty. Born in Ellenville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Ellen Marl Graham.

She was married to Albert Rode, who died Sept. 13, 1952. She was a secretary for local insurance companies until her retirement, and was a member of St. Memorial Episcopal Church in Ellenville, the Parish Aide, the choir, and the Epiacopa! Church Women. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Ellenville Senior Citizens.

Surviving are: a son, Albert Rode of Cragsmoor; two daughters: Mrs, Doris Schmeiser of Ellenville; Mrs. Eleanor Keator of Norwich; a brother, Isaac Graham of Stone Ridge; a sister, Mrs. Edith Caston of Ellenville; nine grandchildren; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St.

Joseph's Memorial Episcopal Church, Ellenville. Burial will be Fantinekill Cemetery, with the Rev. John S. Armfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Louck's Funeral Home, Ellenville.

KINGSTON The price of food in Kingston dropped again last week, declining 1.3 per cent for the period ending Oct. 30. The 41 item market basket used by the Ulster County Consumer Information Service to determine what it costs to feed a family of four in the city coat $63.62 compared to $64.43 for the previous week. The price decline has been more or less consistent over the past eight weeks and the average food price index during that time has decreased by 3.3 per cent, from a high basket price of $66.65. The market basket index is based on the U.S.

Department of Moderate Coat Family Food Plan and lists the various amounts of foods which should be consumed in order to provide a nutritious diet for a family of four. Among items showing marked declines last week were grain and dairy fresh and canned and frozen and fiah increased slightly and beverages remained stable. Surviving are: his widow, the former Esther Svensen; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Ruth) Port of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Frank H.

funeral Notices Dixon Janet M. Dixon, 56, of Woodstock, died Sunday at Kingston Hospital. Born March 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stanley B. and Emily Lewis Wilson Longyear, and was a lifelong resident of Woodstock. Her husband.

William H. Dixon, died in 1969. Surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Williard (Margaret) Berryan of Woodstock; three brothers: Lewis Wilson of Woodstock; Samuel Wilson of Stuart, Stanley Longyear of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, the former state legislator Kenneth L.

Wilson, died in 1971. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the convenience of the family from the Lasher Funeral Home Woodstock. The Rev. Harry Tysen, of the Woodstock Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.

Coffey, 60, a longtime master plumber and former Democratic city alderman, has been appointed plumbing inspector by Mayor Francis R.

Koenig. Coffey assumed his new duties today, succeeding Charles J. Kelly, who retired effective Sunday after 16 years in the position. A Kingston native. Coffey has been a master plumber for the past 27 years, operating a plumbing and heating business established by his father, Edward D.

Cabrini School, West Park, were charged with assault in the third degree Sunday when they allegedly attacked another pupil. Arrested by Ulster County Sheriff Department were Donald Ennist, 16, of West Park and Santiago Acevedo, West Park. Lischinsky, 71 Wrentham Kingston on a warrant charging issuance of a bad check. Lischinky pleaded guilty and was sentenced by Esopus Town Justice Robert Jordan to a $100 fine or 15 days in jail. Coffey served from 1972 through 1975 on the Kingston Common Council as Ward 1 alderman, succeeded in the last municipal election by Clarence C. Raichle. a Republican.
