York Daily Record, Monday, November 18, 1974 13 Accid. ent he (Continued From Page One) Lester Leroy Shuier, 49, of 302 Ross New Cumberland, died when the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Daniel Brown, 59, New Cumberland RD1. Newberry Township Police said Shuier was riding on Route 177 outside of Lewisberry at Potts Hill Road, when his motorcycle and the car collided head-on, Saturday about 11 :15a.m. An autopsy performed by Coroner Fourhman showed cause of Shuler's death to be a severe skull fracture. dead by Coroner Fourhman, who attributed death to a skull fracture.

The victim was the husband of Mrs. Debra S. Koser Leiphart and a son of Clair P. and Mary Schwartz Leiphart, York RD 12. He was an employe of Leiphart Bus Lines, his father's business, Mr.

Leiphart was born in York County, was a graduate of Eastern Area High School and was a member of Canadochly United Church of Christ. He coached teams at Yorkana for the Eastern York County baseball and basketball leagues. Surviving also are two brothers, William H. Leipahart III, and Lynn T. Leiphart.

Leiphart, 23, Hellam RD 12. Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on Old Orchard at Williamsburg Roads. Springettsbury Township Police said the Leiphart car and a Zeigler's Refuse truck driven by Samuel C. Runkle, 27, Dover RD 3, struck head-on.

Runkel and a passenger in the truck, Gregory L. Alwine, 22, of 1112 Grandview Road, were treated at York Hospital following the accident. Leiphart was pronounced Merit Awards Given from hgan, district chairman, are Raymond II. Cromie, Vann Johnson, Dorothy Deliinger and Dale Miller. Millard H.Garman HANOVER Millard H. Garman, 70, of, 801 York died Saturday evening at his home, after a lengthy illness. His wife, Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Weaver Garman. died on March 19.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Garman, he had been employed 50 years prior to his retirement from the former J. F. Rohrbaugh Co.

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover Moose and Hanover Eagles. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Warner, Gettysburg RD 3, and Mrs. Dawn Gesiorski, Hershey Heights, Hanover RD and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle with Mr. Garman's minister, the Rev. Dr. Arthur L.

Hoke Mrs. Mabel I. Hoke, 86, of 214 W. Maple widow of Elmer E. Hoke, died Sunday at 6 p.m.

at her home. Mrs. Hoke was born in York County, a daughter of the late Howard J. and Sophia Geisler Rodgers. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ.

He had retired in August, 1973, after 38 years with York Division, Borg-Warner Corp. Mr. Faust was born in York, son of the late Edward and Mary Shettel Faust. Surviving besides his widow are a son, John E. Faust, 24 Virginia Shrewsbury; one grandchild, and a brother, Gordon Faust, 9 Crestview Drive.

He was a member of 1st St. John. Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and Sunday school and served as a church official for many years. He also was a member of the Borg-Warner 25-Year Club. His pastor, the Rev.

Edward J. Devan, will officiate at funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 1st St. John Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Henry C.Zinn Henry C. Zinn, 74, of 562 W. Princess widower of Mrs. Mary Seidenstricker Zinn, died Saturday at 10:45 p.m.

at York Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Mr. Zinn was a retired employe of Dentsply International and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are two sons, Richard A. Zinn, 2445 Redwood Road, and Henry C.

Saturday at his home, York RD 12, after a long illness. He was born in Wrightsville, son of Mrs. Emma Yake Roth, 137 Orange and the late John H.Roth. Mr. Roth was a retired command sergeant major with the Army Security Agency.

He retired in April 1973 after 272 years, and since then had been employed by Wrightsville Post Office. He held the following awards: Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, eight Good Conduct World War II Victory Medal, Korean ServiceMedal with three service stars. United Nations Service Medal, Germany and Japan Occupation Medals, Vietnam Service Medal with silver service star, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal with 10 oak leaf cluster. He was a member of American Legion Post 469, Wrightsville; Kreutz Creek VFW Post 7045; Disabled American Veterans; Hokkaido Lodge 17, Chitose, Japan, an Artesians Lodge, Columbia. Surviving besides his widow and mother are three sons, Pfc.

Neeper's former Mrs. Mabel M. Myers SPRY Mrs. Mabel M. Fitz Myers, 81, of 221 Dew Drop Road, widow of Erwin E.

Myers died Saturday at 9:58 p.m. at Memorial Osteopathic Hsopital, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Myers and her husband, who died in 1969, had for approximately 45 years conducted a fresh vegetable and poultry stand at Central Market in York before their retirement, A daughter of the late Howard and Annie McDowell Fitz, Mrs. Myers was a native of York Township and a lifelong member of New Fairview Church of the Brethren, She held membership in the Ladies' Auxiliary of Goodwill Fire Co.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Raymond Shirey. 216 Dew Drop Road; Ervin E. Myers York RD Richard A. Myers, 204 Dew Drop Road; and Mrs.

Daniel Myers, 2254 S. Queen 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Mary McWilliams, Howard H. Fitz and Mrs. Arthur Knaub, all of the Spry area.

The Rev. John Miller and the Rev. Murray Lehman, ministers of New Fairview Church of the Brethren, will officiate at the funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church near Leader's Heights. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the church. John H. Beck John H. Beck, 72, husband of Mrs. Mabel Tyson Beck, 2712 Lewisberry Road, died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Beck, before his retirement, had been employed as a guard for the York Division of Borg-Warner Corp. He was born in Springvale, the son of the late John A. and Sarah J. Eber'sole Beck and was a member of Y'ork Aerie 183, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

His newphew, the Rev. Ronald Schmuck, of Red Lion Bible Church, will officiate at the funeral Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Dodson Funeral Home, 517 N.George St. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs.

James Heffran Mrs. Emma Jan Heffran, 50, wife of James Heffran, 1629 Sixth died Sunday at 12:05 p.m. at York Hospital. Mrs. Heffran was born in York, a daughter of the late Clayton and Esther Ludwig Koch, and was a lifelong resident.

She was employed as a beautician by the Mae Van Beauty Shoppe and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Surviving also are a daughter, Melissa Heffran, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Guy Hostetter, Smyrna, Del. Her pastor, the Rev, Martin Hopkins, will officiate at the funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Dodson Funeral Home, 517 N.George St.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, ElwoodC. McWilliams JACOBUS-Elwood C. "Mac" 78, husband of Vertie M. Ness McWilliams, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at his home, 24 N.

Pleasant St. He was born in Hopewell Township, son of the late Clark and Annie Hess McWilliams, and was a resident of Glen Rock until last August. Mr. McWilliams retired in 1960 as a sheet metal worker at Teledyne Readco, York. He was a member, former councilman and deacon of Christ Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury.

Mr. McWilliams was an Army Quartermaster Corps veteran of World War and a member of Austin L. Grove Post 403, American Legion. Glen Rock; Barracks 2022. Drive; and two brothers, Robert Danley, 813 Tenth and Luther Danley, 644 E.

Zion Cemetery. Miss Janet Ebersole Miss, Janet Ebersole, 29, Shippensburg RD 2, died Sunday morning at her home following an illness of several months. Miss Ebersole was born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, a daughter of John L. and Ruth M. Horst Ebersole, Shippensburg RD 2.

She was a member of Diller Mennonite Church, Newville RD 3, a 1963 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School and had attended York College of Pennsylvania, where she majored in elementary education. Miss Ebersole was a former employe of Menno-Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and more recently was teaching at the Tidings of Peace Mennonite Mission, York. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters: Marlin E. Ebersole, Carlisle RD J. Lester Ebersole, Myerstown, Mrs.

Daniel Wadel, Middlebranch, Ohio; Mss. James Wadel, Shippensburg RD and Nathan K. Ebersole, Naomi K. Ebersole. Wilmer L.

Ebersole and Keith D. Ebersole, all at home; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Ebersole, Chambersburg; and her maternal grandparents, Mr.

and Mrs. Marlin E. Horst, Maugansville, Md. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Diller Mennonite Church, Newville, with Bishop Adam R.

Martin, the Rev. Marvin L. Ruth and Paul S. Landis officiating. Burial will be in the adjacent church cemetery.
