Lakota Girls Win State Line Title LAKOTA — One conference championship was won Tuesday night with another still pending Friday night's outcome in State Line conference action. The Lakota girls won their respective title with a 63-58 victory over Armstrong. Lakota was unbeaten during the season compl- ing a 15-0 season mark and a 10-0 conference record. The Armstrong boys defeated the Lakota boys 70-55 to finish the conference race with a 9-1 record. The State line conference boys title may end in a three way tie. Ledyard also finished the season with a 9-1 record in the standings. Swea City has a chance to end its season with a 9-1 mark if they pass the last test of the season against Thompson. Armstrong came roaring back in the second period to knot the score 3434. Lakota outscored Armstrong 15-12 in the third period to gain a three point advantage at the end of the period 4946. Lakota held off a Armstrong bid for victory in the final period to win the game. Leading the way for the conference champs was Sue Karels with 37 points. Kathy Boyd chipped in 14 points. Bonnie Barrett was high scorer for Armstrong with 23 points. Claudia Cecil added 21 points. Armstrong was never headed in its quest for a conference title. The Tigers took the lead 15-8 in the first period and held a 39-20 margin at halftime. The Tigers were as strong in the third period as in the first as they held Lakota to 12 points. Armstrong scored 21 to take a 60-32 lead into the final period of play. The Eagles outscored Armstrong 23- 10 in the final period of Play. TITONKA - Hurt and Titonka split the state Line Conference season finale here Friday night •with Surt winning the girls' game €4-62 and Titonka taking a 75-70 decision in the boys' contest. Hie Burt girls thwarted a fourth quarter rally to close out their season -with a win. Burt led 55-47 going into the final period. Ms Michaelsen was high for Burt with 38 points and Linda Fairbanks paced Burt with 33.
