Julius Baas announce the engagement •and approaching marriage of her daughter, 'Phyllis Scott, to Michael Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gilbert, all Algona. A late August wedding is planned! HOMEMAKEiRS MEET The Plum Creek Homemakers Club met June 29 with Mrs. Rosanne Schmit. Co-hostesses were Emma Paetz, Norma Paetz, and Viola Kain. Nineteen members and two guests were present. Inspiration was given by Marjorie Bode. A Kossuth county fair booth is being planned and help" ers are Donna Broesder, Blanche Long, Norma Paetz, Roseann Schmit and Delores Bode. Protect the People, was the lesson topic and Beulah Seeley gave the lesson on Driving Safety and Use of Pesticides. This was followed by a questions and answers peri- iod. Norma Paetz was in charge of the entertainment. The next meeting is in Sentember with Joyce Keith. Election of officers will be held. Rosanne Schmit and Jean Benschotev, nominat ing committee. Elfreida Clark discussed voting. The primaries are Sept. 6. A voting machine will be on exhibit at the Kossuth county fair. and Sandy. HOSTS TO GROUP Last week Sunday evening Wr. and Mrs. Gail Haase were losts to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Berkeland, Julie and Kent, of nglewood, Calif., Mrs. Phyllis Alford and Kim, of Whittier, alif., Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gae, Rosemary and Kristie, Des laines, 111., Mr. and Mrs. Hernan Gade, Mr. and Mrs. Larry ade, Cindy and Judy, of Fenon, Mr. and Mrs. David Skog- trom, of Ames, Karen Haase, of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Clifard Haase and Mrs. Pearl Philips. It had been 13 years since he Herman Gades had seen many of those present. ATTEND WODEN WEDDING Mrs. Albert Weishaar has been visited by her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Warehime and family, of Roseland, N. J. She went back as far as Ottawa, 111. with them and visited her son Carl and family and returned here with them to attend the weddins Saturdav July 16 at Woden of her grand daughter Betty Rudisill, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rudi sill, to William Welling, of Call fornia. The services were helc in the Sacred Heart Catholic church at Woden, and was fol lowed by dinner at the Lcgioi hall. Other relatives presen were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stal zer and Vicki, and Mr. and Mr? Floyd Weishaar, Gary, Ricki FAMILY PICNIC HELD A family picnic was held Sunday at Burt honoring the married daughter Carol of Washington state, daughter of the former Evelyn Dutton, now married, many years ago. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dutton, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Teeter, of Burt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Melson, of LuVerne, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Schichtl, of Britt, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cook, and Henry Johannsen. SHOWER FOR BRIDE-TO-BE A personal shower was held Thursday evening, July 21, at the home of JoAnn Klemm for Karen Seller, who will be married Aug. 20 to Larry Fogarty, of West Bend.
