Wednesday, March 16. 1966 Sexual Freedom Group is Banned AUSTIN (AP)—University of Texas Chancellor Harry Ransom has baouied from the campus a student group championing sexual freedom. The group, which M»HQ itself the Texas Student League for Responsible Sexual Freedom, was ordered Tuesday to stop distributing handbills on the campus on the ground "it was not in good taste." The handbill describe the group's policy toward sex: "Any private sex act which does no physicial harm and is not initiated by force, whether undertaken by one or two or more consenting adults, is not morally wrong and should not be legally wrong." Ransom said in a statement the administration disapproves all activities by the group. "Tne time has come when universities, which are open doors to responsible discussion, must not be turned into doormats for irresponsible propaganda and willful breach of clearly stated university policy," Ransom said. Fire Destroys Car At Fullers A car in Fullers repair shop at 913 S. Main was destroyed by a fire Monday night causing smoke damage to the meta! building and attracting numerous spectators. M. P. (Pal) Fuller, co-owner, said the car was a I960 Renault owned by the company. The fire was discovered about 8:54 p.m. by a neighbor, Mrs. Nancy Cave who heard "a popping noise" in the building. Fuller said the car was abiaze. He said the fire might have started in the engine. The Baytown Fire Department put out the fire. Four other cars in the shop were undamaged except for smoke, he said. Employes were busy cleaning up the water and smoke early Tuesday morning. Fuller added that the fire loss may run as high as $1,000 but that no firm estimate had been made by early Tuesday. Two Die In Viet Nam WASHINGTON (AP)—Marine Cpl. Willie G. Hawkins of Waco, Tex., and Army Sgt- Charles J- Ford of El Paso, Tex., have died in Viet Nam, the Defense Department said Monday. Haw-kins, son of Mrs. Ruthie M. Kicks, was killed in action, the department said. Ford, husband of Mrs. Betty J. Ford, died from non-b o s t i 1 e causes, it added.
