The spring freshet gained impetus from temperatures in the 50s and 60s and downpours of an inch or more in several of the central Plains states; Several minor streams in the Mississippi and Missouri watersheds were out of their banks in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota, but no major flooding was reported. Winds gauging 60 miles an hour accompanied thunderstorms at Goodland and Hill City in Kansas. Hill City also was pelted by half-inch hail. A limited area in Nebraska was deluged. Beaver Cross* ing, in the southeastern part of the state, reported 4% inches. An unofficial reading of 7 inches was reported 4 miles west of there. A tornado watch was in effect for adjacent sections of Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Rainy weather also covered the central Atlantic states and the Pacific Northwest. Elsewhere in the nation, the weather was mostly fair and mild. The snow cover in the north central states, however, held temperatures below 40. Ike's brother out of hospital WASHINGTON (AP) - Dr. Milton Eisenhower, whose sudden illness prevented him from attending the funeral of his brother, the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower, was discharged from Walter Reed Army Hospital yesterday. The hospital announced that Dr. Eisenhower "had a mild transient episode of coronary insufficiency." He will return to his home in Baltimore to continue convalescence under the care of his own physician. msssssmsas^m' GRAND OPENING SALE 2 DAYS SATURDAY It SUNDAY Arizona Cactus Sales 5322 N. 27TH AVE.
