September, 1987 Chamber [asa TH€ GR€flT€fl UKIflH CHAMQCR OF COMM€RC€ Exchange Grande Vintage Ball will be Oct. 3 Elegance will be the mode The annual Grande Vintage Ball will be held October 3 at Weibel Winery. The elegant event will be the ninth ball sponsored by the Ukiah Chamber of Commerce. Chairman Thorn Parducci describes an evening of enjoyment which will include a mouthwatering prime rib dinner served by Five Star Catering and dancing to the music of the. Swing Thing, featuring vocalist Betty Allen. A no host social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner, dancing and a night of fun is $25 per person. Reservation deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 30. Contact the chamber office at 462-4705 for tickets. The folks will have a ball dancing at the Grande Ball again this year. Chamber brings the Air Force Band The Air Force Band of the Golden Gate stage band will appear at Ukiah High School Cafctorium Sunday, Oct. 4. Known as The Commanders, the 18 piece musical ensemble specializes in big band jay./.. The group was founded in 1959 and has toured #******» * throughout North America and performed on numerous radio and television shows. They even gave a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The band, under the direction of Master Sergeant Fred Bauer, is considered to be one of the finest of its kind on the West Coast. They music they play includes selections from Glenn Miller, Count Basic, Buddy Rich and Sammy Nestico as well as those from current artists.
