Child Care Capacity Building Services. Greater Avenues for Independence (G.A.I.NJ is a comprehensive statewide employment program for applicants and recipients of the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) Program. As part of Mendocino County's implementation of the G.A.I.N. Program, child care resources for G.A.I.N. participants must be developed. The scope of the work contemplated by this RFP includes the following: A. Meet with individuals, groups, organizations, and agencies as appropriate to develop criteria for provider workshops to meet the child care needs of Mendoci.io County. B. Conduct a minimum of 5 workshops at specific locations in Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg to educate and recruit individuals and groups in becoming Child Care Providers. C. Aid and assist all persons and groups including church and service dubs, interested in becoming Child Care Providers with the necessary information, regulations and forms regarding child care Ncensure. D. Refer potential Child Care Providers to appropriate sources which can aid and assist them in obtaining the required license. E. Facilitate the efforts of the school districts, local Child Care Providers and parents groups for the expansion of licensed child care services. F. Be responsible for providing a site where potential Child Care Providers can experience practical training at an established child care facility. A minimum of 25 training slots shall allow for 8 hours each of child care "on the job' training experience, for a period of 6 months covering November 1987 through April 1988. G. Submit to the Department of Social Services a sample of the curriculum to be used for the above training. H. Obtain Mendocino County Department of Social Services approval of workshop training plan. I. Develop a model business plan and financial statement for after school child care programs for: 1. Licensed Day Care Home 2. Center Based Care 3. School District .
