The York Daily Record, Wednesday Morning, November 10, 1971 married 61 years MR. AND MRS. A. MT. ROYAL Mr.

and Mrs. A. W. Spangler, Dover RD 1, on Friday observed the 61st anniversary of their wedding. The celebrants were married Nov.

5, 1910, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, then located at South Beaver and West King Streets, York, with the late Rev. Clinton E. Waters, officiating. Mrs.

Spangler, 80, is the former Mearll Sherman, daughter of the late John and Minnie Sherman, and was born in Goldsboro. Her W. SPANGLER husband, 82, is a son of the late Emerson and Celinda Spangler, and was born in the house in which the celebrants' presently reside. Mr. Spangler had been a carpenter for many years and had for nearly a quarter of a century worked at York Inter-State Fair.

The couple had five children, one of whom is living. She is Mrs. Janet Slothower, Wellsville. There are 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Short circuit sets pipe wrapping afire DALLASTOWN Rescue Fire Company was summoned at noon Tuesday to the home of Mrs. Vertie Deller, 15 Frederick where fire broke out in wrapping over water pipes beneath the porch at the back of the house. Firemen reported a short circuit. developed in electrical cord lining the pipes to prevent freezing and ignited burlap used for insulation purposes. The smoldering fire filled the house with smoke, charred timber beneath the porch and melted a hole in a kitchen sink drain pipe.
