Wednesday, March 9, 1966 20 "Medicare Alert' Meet Set Friday Baytown Senior Citizens have a "Medicare Alert" meeting from 2 to 4 pjn. Friday at First Christian Church. The Texas Council of Senior Qtizens is directing the program, which is designed to acquaint all persons with benefits under Medicare. If a senior citizens does not sign up for Medicare by March 30. 1966, he wil not again be eligible to sign up until 1967. Social Security officials will assist in signing up persons at mass meetings. They also will arrange to call at the homes of persons who are confined to their homes. I Navy Seabees Woo Recruits "Higher pay and no recruit training" has been announced for men under 40 who can qualify for the Navy's Seabee program. Spencer Fordiaal, Navy recruiter in Baytown. said. An applicant can enlist in a higher pay rating, depending upon his trade and experience if that trade can beused in the Seabees. These include plumbers, carpenters, steelworkers. construction electricians, heavy) equipment operators and sever-' al others. The terms of enlistment are far two, three or four years.
