Wednesday. Match 9, 1966 Duke Second— Brown Moves To Kentucky Wildcats $FA College As Lead Final AP List Coach By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Kentucky's Wildcats, who narrowly missed a perfect regular season, scored in a runaway la the final Associated Press major-college basketball poll for 2965-66. The Wildcats were voted No. 1 by 39 of the 48 sports writers and broadcasters on AP's nationwide panel. Duke climbed back into the second spot ahead of Texas Western, which, like Kentucky, suffered its only loss of the season last Saturday night. Kansas's Big Eight champions jumped from sixth to fourth. St. Joseph's of Pennsylvania also advanced two places to fifth, and Cincinnati climbed from 10th to seventh. Others in the final rankings are Loyola of Chicago, which slipped from fourth to sixth: Vanderbilt, which dropped three spots to eighth; Michigan in ninth and Western Kentucky in 10th. Michigan, winner of the Big Ten title, regained a place in the ratings and Western Michigan made the Top Ten for the first time. Voting was based on games through Monday night. Kentucky was toppled by Tennessee 69-62 Saturday night and Texas Western lost to Seattle 7472. Both rebounded Monday night — Kentucky whipping Tulane 103-74 in its season finale, and Texas Western downing Oklahoma City 89-74 in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The final Top Ten. with records through Monday and points on a 10-3-8 etc. basis: Motorcycle Club Schedules First Race For Sunday The Baytown Motorcycle Club will hold its first race Sunday, March 13, at their track located on Interstate 10 at Sjolander Road. The traces will get under way with the time trials at 12:30 p.m. and the finals to begin at 1:30 p.m. \ Sunday's schedule will include six divisions including^ the 99cc class, the 200 class, SO class 500 class, 650 . class, Und the open class. 1 All riders under 21 'years o age are required to have a notarized release from their par ents before they will be allowec to compete. Admission to the races has been set at one dollar per person with children under 12 getting in free. The Baytown Motorcycle Club is an A.M.A. sanctioned organization. Future club races will be held every second Sunday of each month. Bob Bradley Asks Election To Crosby Board Of Trustees Bob Bradley, candidate for position I in th e Crosby School Board election, has been a resident of Crosby six years. He has two children — Pam, 13 and Jean, 8. He was graduated from Flat River, Mo., High School and has attended electronics school at Durham College and Lee College.
