SUPPLEMENT TO THE UKIAH DAILY JOURNAL- • St Mary's 2000 Mardi Gras • -Page 3 Mardi Gras Schedule of Events Carl Purdy Hall, Redwood Empire Fairgrounds, Ukiah Saturday, February 5 6 pm -1 am Evening Events BUFFET DINNER Enjoy a delicious Buffet Dinner catered by noted local chef Jennette Stroh. The meal will feature barbecued Tri-Tip and Chicken in Marinated Mushrooms. Seating times as follows; 6pm 1st Seating 7pm Reserved Table Seating 8pm 2nd Seating GAMING - 6:30 PM • 12 AM Join your friends for a lively night of gaming with the Tahoe Casino Company. This year's Mardi Gras gaming tables include 28 Blackjack, 1 Craps, 1 Roulette, 1 Wheel of Fortune, and 2 Poker tables. DANCING - FROM 9:30 PM • 1 AM Swing into the Seventies on Mardi Gras's Dance floor. Wright Sounds will play favorites from Al Green, the Temptations, the Bee Gees, Foreigner, the Doobie Brothers, and Chicago to name a few. Priies far beat costume! Children will have fun playing balloon darts, basketball throw, and pig in a pot as well as winning tickets and redeeming them for prizes at the Carnival Store. New this year - crafts and face painting. DESSERT DERBY -JUDGING 10 AM Find out if your famous dessert recipe is really award winning! Ribbons for 1st and 2nd place will be awarded. These delectable entries will be available for purchase at the cake booth. KID'S AUCTION - 11 AM Children will have the opportunity to have fun bidding on items such as lava lamps and Beenie Babies. Bidding by children only please. A Kid's Opportunity Drawing will also be held. Tickets available the day of the event. WINE AUCTION - 12 To 1 PM Fine vintages and brews donated by numerous award-winning wineries and breweries will be auctioned by wine moderator, Monte Hill. Selections to be sold in cases, singles and vertical collections. FOODCfoJttT Enjoy the delicious Mexican specialties prepared by El Azteca or American favorites from hot dogs to steak sandwiches prepared by Ferranti Construction. Coffee from Dunnewood Vineyards, Gifts & Coffee. Popcorn, cotton candy, sundaes and other snacks will be available throughout the day. VE AUCT>H • 1 PM From Dentistry to Dance Lessons, Accommodations to Appliances, the live auction features many great items generously donated by local businesses, St. Mary's School Classes, and individuals (See page 4 for a partial preview list). Come bid on these fabulous items and help St. Mary's School Mardi Gras effort. Moderated by John Bogner with auctioneer Loreen Hamilton. Come see the fine collection of donations in the Silent Auction displayed near the live auction platform. Winning bids will be announced at 4 pm.
