Dissolve 1 tsp. soda m H cop buttermilk and mix in. POHT into prepared tgreased and Qoured) pan according to thickness desired. I use the 9x13x2 Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Wbfle -*rm and still tn the pan cover witn the following: 1 stick margarine 4 Tbsp. Cocoa one-third c. milk Bring to a boil Remove from heat and add: 1 box powdered sugar 1 cup chopped pecans (optional* 1 tsp. vanilla Blend well and spread over cake wtote hot or warm "This recipe was brought to me by my dearest friend when I was very ill and flat on my back. MOTHER'S WHITE FRUITCAKE Mrs. Troy EOis Freejwrt 4 eggs (separate eggs and use whites only for white cake batter, use whole eggs for yellow batter.) 3 c. flour 1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. each of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg 1 c. candied cherries. chopped 1 c. candied pineapple, chopped 2 c, nuts, chopped Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating one minute after each egg. Mix dry ingredients together. Add fruits and nuts to dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour batter into three large layer pans. greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Cool layers and cover with filling. FILLING: Juice of 2 lemons and 1 orange 1 coconut, ground or use dry coconut 2 c. sugar and 2 Tbsp. flour 1 c. hot water Mix and cook until thick enough to spread on cake. Wesson oil «eggs 3'* c. flour 2 tsp. soda 1 tip. each cinnamon, cloves. nutmeg, salt, and allspice a* c. to 1 c. water 2 c. pumpkin 2c. pecans (or other nut* if desired) 2 c. raisins Mix all well and pour into four one- pound greased and floured coffee cans. Fill only half full Bake on a cookie sheet in a 325 degree oven for about 75 minutes.
