At one time, soybeans were down around 1% cents, and wheat" and corn nearly 1 cent a bushel. Trade was fairly active and mixed on the opening in the soybean pit. There was some com.mercial and local professional selling of nearby beans options but deferred o p t i o n s displayed some strength. Minutes later, however, weakness pervaded all these options. There appeared to be little outside influence on corn, wheat and oats prices. There .was only a minimal amount of commercial selling in the corn pit and here, too, buyers appeared to be scarce. Wheat prices held to a fairly narrow range, also in slow trade. After about an hour, soybeans wre 14 to 114 cents a bushel lower, January 2.04%; wheat was % to % lower, March 1.68%; corn was % to % lower, March 1.55% and oats were unchanged to % lower, March 77 cents.
