Tee offs go Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:18 p.m., same for Sunday. James Harper won the pro title last year, while Curtis Baldwin will go after his thirdstraight low amateur title. Kart racing Coastal Kart Racers will hold racing Saturday and Sunday at KARTBC, the track behind Major League.

Baseball The Chilliwack Midget AAA Cougars will face Fraser Minor in a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Fairfield Island Park. UCFV Golf The first annual UCFV Men's Basketball Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, July 22. There will be an 8 a.m.

The Chilliwack Parks and Recreation Department has recently marked courts at Cornwall Cr. Park. Youth tennis camps Chilliwack Community Tennis will host a youth outdoor tennis camp at the Twin Rinks for advanced players ages 10-15 years Aug. 14-18. Instructor Najda will teach basic strokes, ball control, footwork, and general tennis concepts, with an emphasis on sportsmanship and having fun. The cost is $65 for each camp. Basketball camps Chilliwack Hoops still has a few openings for its Summer Basketball Camp, which will be held Aug. 21-25 at Chilliwack Senior Secondary School. Grades 1-4, the beginners group, will be on the floor from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $60.

Players in Grades 4-7, the Intermediate group, take to the hardwood from 2:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., with a $70 fee. Grades 7-10, for Middle school players, will be on the floor from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $80.

The cost for the five-day camp is $60, with a special $55 rate per child for families with two or more players. Boys in Grades 1-5 will be on the court from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., while Grades 6-9 hit the hardwood from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The emphasis will be on individual instruction, and fundamentals, with daily scrimmages.

Paddling camps The Chilliwack Center of Excellence and Fraser Valley Regional Development Center is offering instructed paddling clinics at Hope Slough and Cultus Lake this intended for elementary- and middle-school aged beginning paddlers interested in learning new skills, with a focus on slalom technique. Chilliwack Center of will also host Summer Day Camps July 17-21 from 10 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. at Cultus Lake Main Beach. Summer day camps are intended for beginning paddlers with no or limited whitewater paddling experience. They offer participants the opportunity to do a lot of paddling in a short period of time. The emphasis of the camp will be on skill development and having fun.

The camp is open to all paddlers ages 8-16-years who can paddle in a straight line and demonstrate a wet exit. Additional programs are available every week to teach paddlers these basic skills.
