The award was made by the Mitchell County Press-News, the 2nd of the kind to be made. Last year's winner was Attorney Joseph B. Casey. More than 300 attended the banquet. Featured speaker was Miss Annette Snapper, world traveler, who spoke on conditions in Europe. The other 5 members listed as candidates for community service awards were Mrs. Lois Schuchart, Iva Mae Christiansen, County Supt. L. P. Ortale, Urban Marian d Albert Morse. New board members elected Monday evening include Leonard Lamprecht, manager of the Osage municipal light corporation, Jesse Brooker, co-partner of the Osage Hardware, Atty. Joseph B. Casey and Ben Donsker, of Gildner- Donsker clothing store. Holdovers include John Bartlett, O. C. Hoi- comb, Stuart Walker, Dell Almquist, Stannard Hill, Pete Kloberdanz, Jack Wiley and Urban Marr. New officers elected include Urban Marr, of Marr Knitting Mills, president for 2nd,year, and Jack Wiley, vice president. PASTORS MEET Eag:le Grove—The Webster City sub-district meeting of pastors was held at the local Methodist church Monday. The pastors and their wives met at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. H. G. Dawes for dinner and a business meeting. Doctor Cecil Seeman, district superintendent of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Seeman were present. Others present were the Rev. and Mrs. Farnam of Webster City; the Rev. and Mrs. Burnett Watson, Fort Dodge; the Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Thompson of Duncombe.
