A daughter of the late Jacob S. and Martha Haugh Arnold, she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and 4- degree: Zembo Temple, Cyrene Commander 34, Knights" Templar; and First Area Order of DeMolay, York Chapter. He was president of the Columbia Canoe Club, a member of Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Columbia Elks Lodge 1074, and served on the boards of Columbia Hospital, the America i Bank and Trust Company and St. Anne's Home for The Aged. A funeral service will be held at St.

John's Lutheran Church, Sixth and Locust Columbia, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Officiating will be clergymen of three faiths, the Rev. Lawrence R. Recla, the Rt. Rev.

Ninth Philadelphia, formerly of Fawn Grove, who was assistant manager of the Ben Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia, was fatally stricken Friday in Philadelphia while walking his dog. The Medical Examiner for Philadelphia attributed death to natural causes. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B.

Hammond Richard E. Hammond, 47, husband of Mrs. Carolyn H. Hammond, 1132 Valley View Road, died Friday at 5:30 p.m. at York Hospital.

Mrs. Hammond was district manager of the Laboratory Procedures Division of Upjohn for which he was previously a salesman. He was a member of East-' minster Presbyterian Church. He served in the Navy in World War II. Mr.

Hammond was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Clarence E. and Myrtle Sprowies Hammond. Surviving also are two children, David B. and Mary Beth Hammond, both at home: and a sister, Mrs. Helen Smith, Phoenix, Arizona.

He retired five years ago from the Eyster-Weiser York, where he was employed as a molder. Mr. Smith was a member of Madison Avenue Church of the Brethren, York. He also leaves four children, Leroy W. Smith.

Washington, COLUMBIA Earl T. Strickler, 65, a York County native who was an international authority on watch and clock collecting, died Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lancaster, after a three-day heart illness. Strickler was the husband of Mary Jane Kurtz Strickler and resided at 1225 Manor Columbia.

He was a son of the late A. Millard and Anna L. Jacobs Strickler of Lower Chanceford Township. He was managing director of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Museum at Columbia and belonged to many related, professional, civic and social In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas and Rick, both at home. Strickler held fellowship in the Royal Society of Arts, British Horological Institute, Ancient Monuments Society and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.

He was a diplomate of the Horological Institute of America, held the honorary title of Master Watchmaker, was a member of the Japanese Society of Chronometry, a landsmann of the Allemagne Korporation and a director of the Saito-Samelius Library. He received the Wisdom Society Award of Honor for research in Education, the San Fernando Valley Engineer's Council 1974 Engineering Award for meritorious achievement in that field and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers 1974 Distinguished Contributions Award. Strickler was a member also of the International Platform A's sociation, the Administrative Management Society, the American Society and four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy McFarland and Mrs. Phyllis Swarr, both of Columbia; Mrs.

Mr. Weller belonged to Stabler's United Methodist Church and was a member of Palestine Lodge 189, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Cantonsville, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Baltimore.

At the time of his death he was treasurpr of Seventh District Democratic Club of Baltimore. He was a past president of Parkton Rotary Club and a past president of Hereford High School PTA. Mr. Slenker, a Navy Career man, served in both World War I and II, completing nearly 40 years service prior to his retirement.
