York Daily Record, Saturday, May 18, 1974 19 Jr. High Track Lead Changes In Golf Loop Spring Grove Champ I ,4 9 took both shot and discus. In Class Mark Golden captured the 50 and 75 for Dallastown, while Guy Landis snared the long jump and ran with the winning relay team for North Hills. Class was highlighted by the individual battle between Mark Ness, Dallastown, and Terry Angel, Central. Ness won both the 75 and 100 with Angel finishing second.

In the long jump Angel was first and Ness second. Both boys set new school records in the dashes. Ness won the 75 in :08.2 and the 100 in 10.6. Angel was second in :08.3 and :10.6. both the 220-yard and 440-yard events while participating with the winning 880-yard relay team.

Bryan Vandermark took both the 100 and 440 in Class for York Suburban, and was the only other double winner in the meet. Falcons Win North Hills thumped Dallastown by 122-51, winning all three divisions. In Class A the score was 63-19; Class was 32-18 and Class 27-14. Tim Blankenstein won the 100 and was with both winning relay teams for North Hills in Class A while Don Stambaugh unbeaten and tied in their own dual meet. In two years the Raiders have a record of 11 victories, one tie and no defeats.

A week ago they captured the District 3 PIAA, championship. Completing the league season yesterday, North Hills conquered Dallastown by 122-51. Retain Laurels Spring Grove captured 16 of the 21 events and nailed down top honors with a 120-44 decision over Suburban. In Class A the Raiders won by 58-15. It was 33-17 in Class Band 29-12 in Class C.

Jeff Noel sparked the Class A triumph by winning There is a new leader for the Friday division of the York Sunday School Golf league after Luther Memorial A. scored a 12-4 victory over St. James Lutheran B. Luther Memorial now leads the division with points. Shiloh Lutheran bowed to St.

Paul Lutheran (Spring Grove), 10-6, and fell to the runnerup slot with 36 points. The Spring Grove entry is third with 354. In other Friday results, Aldersgate UM toppled First Baptist, 13-3; St. Paul Lutheran (York RD 6) defeated Calvary Lutheran, g's, and Zion UM tallied 54. TEAM SEEKS GAMES The Columbia girls softball team is interested scheduling games with teams from the York area.

Games are played at home Thursdays and on foreign diamonds Monday. Jim Ehrhart, Luther Memorial, and Bob Kuhn, Aldersgate, were the closest to the fifth and 12th holes, respectively. Bowlers Raise $2,166 Fund In Tourney A sum of $2,166 was raised during the First Bowl Down Cancer tournament conducted with the cooperation of 11 county bowling centers.

James Musselman with a handicap score of 806 was grand champion in the men's division while Darlene Kibbler, with a handicap score of 748, topped women bowlers. Chairman Terry Brenneman announced another event will be held next year during the last week in January. Spring Grove completed its second straight undefeated season in the YCIAA Junior High Track league by downing York Suburban yesterday, 120-44. The triumph gave the Raiders undisputed possession of the league championship. A year ago they shared the crown with Red Lion, when both were YORK COINTY JR.
