Waterloo, 33, of 1250 Glendale Road, was treated at York Hospital Thursday afternoon for multiple bruises received in a traffic accident at Pine St. and College Ave. History stands LONDON (AP) Here was the backdrop: Britain and France, enemies in most chapters of the history books, now are the best of neighbors. They're drawing even closer with Britain's entry into the European Common Market. Here was the rub: The British five-pound note depicts one of Britain's most glorious victories over the French and one of the blackest moments in Gallic annals Napolean's 1815 defeat at Waterloo by Wellington.

"It is somewhat tactless," suggested Lord Leatherland, a Laborite peer in the House of Lords, "to print on the back of the five-pound note a picture of British gunners blowing the French army to blazes and accompanying it with a large portrait of the Duke of Wellington." Here was the government's answer, relayed by Lord Jellicoe: History is history; the five-pound note stays the way it is MOST MODERN SYSTEM BRUNSWICK, Germany (AP) The most modern high magnetic field system in Europe, for research in atomic and nuclear physics, is located at the Physical Institute of the Technical University of Brunswick.
