A Greetings in many languages Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Dallastown, has gone universal this year in extending greetings of the Yuletide to passersby. Church decorations feature a scroll-type banner over the large sanctuary window bearing the message "Merry Christmas" in German while the parsonage front door offers tidings of "Peace on Earth" in Italian, Spanish, German. French, Swedish and Gaelic.

All are illuminated at night for Main Street traffic to see. (Daily Record Photos) In Red Lion area DALLASTOWN Rescue Fire Co. retained Stuart E. Garner as president and Floyd E. Fuller as lire chief at the election of officers Tuesday evening with 30 members in attendance.

Garner will be serving his fifth year as company head hile Fuller will start his second as fire chief. In other business, the company scheduled its annual smoker for Jan. 8 in Bethlehem United Methodist Church fellowship hall, set the yearly turkey and ham supper for March 25 and paid $30,000 on the new fire truck. The chief reported five calls during November. Other officers elected for 1972 were: Sherwood Dehoff, David Crumling and Charles Enfield, vice presidents -in that order; Charles R.

At Grace Lutheran church, the Girl Scouts will hold their Christmas party Monday evening and the Brownies' similar affair is scheduled Tuesday evening. Club Pack 29 meets at 7 p.m. Monday in the social room of Bethany United Methodist church. A meeting of the finance committee will be held in St. Paul's United Methodist church at 7:30 p.m.

Garbage pickup changes listed RED LION Some changes ill be made in the borough's garbage collection schedule the next two weeks due to the holidays. Borough Manager Carl E. Seitz said those changes will be: No special pickup of garbage on Wednesdays Dec. 22 and 29; for both weeks, Thursday's garbage ill be collected on Wednesday and Friday's garbage on Thursday. Borough employes have been granted holidays on the Fridays preceding Christmas and New Year's Day.

The borough office also will be closed those Fridays, Dec. 24 and 31. Chapel UM class holds yule fete RED LION Twenty-nine persons attended the Christmas party held Wednesday evening by the Ever Faithful class of St. Paul's (Chapel) United Methodist church, near town, at the Red Lion Grange hall. Gifts were presented by the class to Roger McWilliams and Vivian Hummel, teacher and assistant, respectively.

Mrs. C. W. Willson made those presentations. George Hummel conducted opening devotions and led carol singing, Arlene Gilbert and George Hummel gave readings, Roger McWilliams offered prayer and Ruth Witmer directed social ac tivities.

Yuletide program planned Sunday WEIGELSTOWN St. David's Evangelical Congregational Sunday School will present its annual Christmas program Sunday at 7 p.m. The annual Christmas worship is scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m. Rev. Bruce N.

Hall, pastor, will base his sermon on "The 'Wisdom of the Wise Men." On Christmas Eve the Young People's Christian Endeavor Society will present a program featuring a playlet and concluding with a candlelight service. Eckert suffered severe burns when the family's home near Laurel was destroyed by lire Dec. ,4. A social hour will follow. Sunday morning worship at 10:10 in Zion church will include an anthem by the Yourth choir, also the singing of carols by the congregation to the accompaniment of a brass quartet. Children of the church will visit Seitz Nursing home, Dallastown. Sunday morning.

This afternoon from 2 to 4, the children's Christmas party will be held at Zion church. Feats of magic by Rev. Melvin Geiman, pastor of Fourth UM church. York, will be part of the entertainment lor that affair. Leaving at 6:45 tonight from the church, the youth of Zion will go caroling and afterward will have a party.

Sunday evening in Pleasant Grove (East End) United Methodist church, near Red Lion, there will be the children's Christmas program at 7 followed by the annual Christmas party for the entire congregation. A ladies' trio, composed of Hilda Emenheiser, Elaine Snyder and Delores Barley, will sing two selections during the 10 a.m. worship Sunday.

The children's program in Grace Lutheran church Sunday evening at 7 will include a pageant, carols by choruses of youngsters and other exercises by individual children or groups. Both the Junior and Senior choirs will sing anthems at the 10:30 a.m. worship. Young people and members of the Women's Society of Christian Service will participate in the candlelight service planned for 7 p.m. Sunday in Adamsville United Methodist church.

Mrs. Aleta Ehrhart will be the leader. A unified service will be held at 9 Sunday morning when the children will give their Christmas program and Robert Rohrbaugh Jr. will deliver a sermonette entitled "The Star of Bethlehem." A period of fellowship will follow that service. All three choirs of Bethany United Methodist church will be singing anthems at the 10:30 a.m.

Lerew, New Freedom RD 2, shown on left, was reelected chairman of the York County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee during its annual convention Thursday. Earl C. Bortner. Manchester Street extended, Glen Rock, in center, as elected for a three-year term on the committee and was renamed vice chair-man.

Ivan L. Lent. York RD 8, on right, has a one-year remaining tcnureon the committee, while Lerew has two years to serve. Named as new first alternate was Richard Deardorff. Dillsburg RD 2, and as new second Albert Bentz, Thomasville RD 1.
