Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rader and Oscar Rader are spending the holidays seeing the sights in Kansas City. Mrs. Eva Jones is visiting her parents, Mr.

John Wise, a former resident of Baker, but now of Kansas City, called on friends here Saturday evening. Mrs: Daisy Yates went to Beatrice, Saturday to spend the holidays with her mother and brothers living there. Colored People of District 32. Thomas Reese hauled wood for Mrs. Will Payne.

Mrs. Lucindy Roberson made a business trip to Hiawatha Friday. Miss Lucindy Brooks is back at her old place working for Mrs. M. Chase.

Mrs. Sarah Reese and children visited friends and relatives in Sabetha a few days. Mrs. Pross and Rev. Mr.

and Mrs. RIchery were the guests of Mrs. Reese and family Sunday. Willis. Supt Good called on the school Wednesday.

Wm. King and children, of Everest, were in town Saturday. A. Johannes begun hauling brick for the new bank building. Mr.

and Forest Yaw the stock show in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. J. W.

Dllley and family spent Monday at Ed Coulters. J. D. Harpster Is building a barn on the place occupied by G. S.

Hampton. Roy Snyder, who has been farming for three years in Canada, returned Monday. Mrs. Frank Wolfe of Stella, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Devlne, of Severance, spent Christmas with his sister, Mrs. F. R. Lonberger. Albert Armstrong attended exercises at the Evangelical church in Hiawatha Sunday night.

Mrs. Frank Seal and son Dwlght left Thursday to spend Christmas with her sisters at Carthage, Mo. Arthur Coulter of Roosevelt, is here for a few days visit on his way to his farm in South Dakota. Earl Ford and Herbert Lockwood, who attend school at Holton university, are at home for their vacation. Arthur Hines and family and Mrs.

George Robertson and children spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hines.

D. Harpster are off to Paola to attend the wedding of Prof. Clair Harpster. Boyd Sloan and wife of Huron, spent Sunday and Monday with Mr. and Mrs.

J. W. Sloan and Dr. and Mrs. Comer.

Mr. and Mrs. George Beall entertained at dinner Christmas day, Mr. and Mrs. C.

H. Dannenberg, of Hiawatha, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Beall, of Horton, Hardin Beall, of Kansas City, North Padonia. Jeff Gilllsple is home for the holidays.

The Padonia school has closed for the holidays. J. T. Young spent Christmas with E. Phillips and family.

A number of relatives spent Christmas at Andy Beamguards. Padonia had a nice Christmas tree and entertainment at the church Saturday evening. Lee Green and family ate Christmas dinner with Mrs. Green's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Henry Gilllsple. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McWllllams are out west on a visit and Albert Phillips is baching while they are away.

Quite a sad accident happened in this vicinity last Saturday. As the north bound passenger train came along by the mill a man was driving a spirited team of horses along the road by the track and they became unmanageable, broke the buggy tongue and threw the man out, injuring him severly. The train crew stopped the train and took him on to Reserve where he was given care. He lives about two miles east of Reserve on the Stewart farm. The extent of his injuries has not been learned.

Bcllcview. John Allen is working for John Lewis. The Laus creek school has one week vacation. Cliff Sullivan sold his stalk pasture to Morgan Walters. Mrs.

Will Rader and daughter May visited on our street. Aaron Rader hauled the coal for the Laus creek school house. The Christmas' entertainment at the Mt. Zlon church was given Saturday evening, Dec. 23, on account of Walter Robersison left Monday for Hiawatha where ho will work in Mr.

McIIugh's candy kitchen. He is greatly missed by some. Hamlin. Baker. J.

H. Hayes was in Powhattan Tuesday. Sheriff Seaman was in Baker Saturday evening on legal business. Otto Lchrack, of Kansas City, spent Christmas with friends in Baker. Sheriff Seaman ato dinner with Mr.

and Mrs. J. II. Hayes Christmas. Morrill Hlte, of Pond Creek, is visiting friends in Baker and vicinity.

Earl Weaver came up from Kansas City to spend the holidays with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Drake, of Hiawatha, came down Saturday to see Mrs. Schober.

The dance in the Woodman hall Friday night was a success, socially and financially. George N. Davis, a former resident of Baker, but now of near Weather-ford, called on friends in Baker Tuesday. Christmas was moving day for some of Baker people; Wm. Oliver moved into the Reed property ho bought of J.

Trompeter. Mrs. Anna Schober, who has been suffering a long time with lung trouble, is no better. Mrs. Schober is living alone and it is pretty hard for her at times to keep fire enough to keep herself warm and get a bite to eat.

She should have the sympathy of her neighbors and they should extend a helping hand. We believe Mrs. Abe Myers brother is here for a few days. Profs. Reeves and Steel were Falls City visitors Tuesday.

The meeting at the Baptist church closed Sunday tvenlng. Rev. Mr. Myers is conducting a series of meetings at Preston. Miss Jessie KIdwell, of Centralla, is homo to spend the holidays.

Miss Flossie Parks spent a few days visiting relatives in Falls City. Mr. Bland of St. Joseph, is here for a visit with his son, A. Bland.

Miss Blanche Shelton is spending a few days visiting friends here. A. J. Reamo presented his daughters with an organ for Christmas. Clyde Straub was down from Falls City to spend Christmas with home folks.

Quite a crowd from here attended the entertainment at Carson Sunday night. Mrs. R. C. Berkley and little son A Happy and Prosperous New Year went to Kansas City Saturday to spend Christmas.
