Miss Universe 1967 will be selected from among 75 beautiful girls from around the world when CBS colorcasts the annual beauty pageant live from the Miami Beach Auditorium on Saturday night, July 15 p.m.) June Lockhart will be hostess, Bob Barker will serve rs master of ceremonies and French actor-singer Jean-Paul Vignon will be a special guest. After a strenuous year touring her realm as Miss Universe 1966, blonde Margareta Arvidsson has a terse bit of advice for her successor: "Be strong and healthy." Beauty, poise and personality are the qualities that won the 5-foot-8, 121-pound Swedish girl her crown at last summer's "Miss Universe Beauty Tageant." But strength and health are the ones that have sustained her in the hectic months since. Her year's reign will culminate with her participation in the pagentry of picking the 1967 version of the world's most beautiful girl on the CBS colorcast. Miss Universe wins $10,000 cash a $3,000 watch, many other gifts and a $10,000 personal-appearance contract.

And it's the pace of those appearances that taxes even a Viking stalwart like Miss Arvidsson. One typical day recently found her flying across the country from Miami to Los Angeles in the morning, being charming at a bathing-suit promotion in the afternoon, looking beautiful at a session of photo-gallery sittings in the evening and doing a press interview at night, then getting to bed in time to rise and shine at a press brunch kicking off a week of fast-paced appearances at scatttred California department stores.
