RANDY KRASSOW General Manager RANDY RELATES THE STORIES OF SOME FAMOUS-AND INTAMOUS SANTA CRUZ CITIZENS RESTING PEACEFULLY IN OUR PARKS. Frederick A.

Hihn, "Mr. Santa Cruz" (Laid to rest August 24, 1913) Frederick Hihn had a distinct vision of the Santa Cruz he wanted to "ZJT live in, and he spent more than 60 years of his life creating it. He was one on the most dominant figures in the commercial, political and social life of the community, his name becoming synonymous with Santa Cruz county. Born in Germany in August of 1829, Hihn fled the political repression there to seek his fortune in the goldmines of California. There he stayed until 1850 when he entered the world of commerce.

But the forces of NORMAN BENITO LIFE INSURANCE RISKY TO WAIT nature-both fire and flood-made him want to move back to Germany. His rriena ana partner, Henry Hintch, was the one who persuaded him to stav. They arrived in Santa Cruz in October of 1851, built a mercantile store on the corner of Front Street and Pacific Avenue, and were met with Bill collectors calling? I'll make them STOP! In 1856, with partner Elihu Anthony, he developed the Santa Cruz water system. In 1869, in the newly named city of Capitola, he created a charming European-style resort he fondly called Camp Capitola. It wasn't long before Hihn became one of the largest landholders in the history of the county; he not only was the first millionaire, he was responsible for the enormous accomplishment of bringing the railroad into this area. This can be risky. If there is a valid need for coverage, waiting could wind up being costly.

Though it's nice to try, one can't always expect to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. Life insurance isn't really for gambling and speculating. As long as you have a reliable agent who is acting in your best interest and recommends the purchase of coverage with a reliable company, you can expect to secure appropriate value for your money. Mil (IT There are many people who postpone buying life insurance, or buying additional coverage, because they find it so confusing. There just seems to be too many different types of policies -universal life, variable life, vanishing premium life, minimum deposit life, deposit term and new ones coming out every day.

Terms of these newer policies seem to be getting more favorable, and that's another reason people are waiting for just the right policy to come along. To the city he loved so dearly, this benevolent and honorable man returned his rewards in kind. He served the community as school trustee assemblyman, and contributed to many charities generously-and anonymously. When he passed away, thousands came to pay their last respects to "Mr. Santa Cruz." Here lies a true founding father.
