California in 1953 and moved the family to Kennewick Washington where he practiced architecture In 1960 he began a new career In vocational education He worked for Columbia Basin College The Superintendent of Public Instruction and retired In 1985 os the Director of Vocational Education tor Washington State's Community Colleges Soon after moving to Olympia Dick took up a life-long dream of sailing He sailed In local races on weekends and on many a summer vacation After retiring he enjoyed walking playing the guitar tutoring English and attending musical performances especially Dixieland Jazz Dick was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1996 and continued to enioy a life full of activities and companionship The family especially thanks caregivers Al Cushman and Evonne LaForge and the dedicated employees of Senior Services for South Sound Garden Courts and Roo-Lan Healthcare Center for enriching his final years Dick Is survived by two brothers Robert Moe (Karin) of
