The story builds up to a powerful climax. George Brent, Ethel Barrymore and Kent Smith are also cast. "Sentimental Journey," a moving film with emotional situations, forms next week's orogramme leader. with Maureen O'Hara. John Payne, William Bendix and Conn'e Marshall.

the new child star, heading the cast. GRAND THSATRE Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit" is expertly portrayed at the Grand Theatre this week by a talented cast. Outstanding performances are given by Elizabeth Butters as Elvira. the "spirit" wife. and Kathleen Crawley as the "earthly" wife.

Ruth. while the perturbed husband is well played by Stanley Bridger. Devonshire. as the clairvoyant. end Ann Dennes as the maid lend excellent support.

"Three Waltzes:" next week's outstanding production. presents Iris Terry. Arthur Pusey and David Holman in the principal roles. The lilting music by Johan Strauss and Oscar Straus is full of gaiety. and the production is identical to that presented in London.

CATLIN'S ARCADIA Beautifully staged and dressed. the Catlin Follies at Arcadia is an increasingly popular attraction to visitors and residents. Humour abounds in the programmes. and singing and dancing contribute to provide well-balanced entertainment. Stern and Bryant and Hal Miller are the laughter creators, while the dancing of the Three Astaires is exciting.

Vine. More and Nevard. with their popular songs at the piano, are a big success. The concerted items are brilliantly rendered and staged. PIER PAVILION Since the season's opening "Summer Serenade'' has presented a change of programme weekly at the Pier.

All are novel and the latest stage effects and lighting are exploited to the utmost as exampled in "Hayride." a sequence which occurs lin programme C. "The Ideal Bat' man, an amusing sketch in the same programme, causes great hilarity, while Tudor Evans brings down the house with a first class performance in the Continental story "Singing Lesson." Last night (Wednesday) the fourth programme in the series opened. "Honeymoon Hotel" gives the unusual stage effects, "The Harp of a novel Welsh ballet premiere to musk by Mai Jones, should prove a popular feature. Jack Train, "Colonel Chinstrap," of Itma fame heads the bill next Sunday evening. He will be supported by Ronald Chesney and his harmonica, Mary Denise and Alfred Swain, vocalists.

John Morava will be conducting the augmented orchestra. CONWAY PALACE "Fallen Angel, a gripping drama of murder and desire, showing this week-end at the Palace, presents Alice Faye in her most momentous dramatic role. Dana Andrews plays a hard-boiled "confidence" man in a desperate man and woman hunt, while Linda Darnell is seen in a fascinating role. Charles Bickford heads an outstanding supporting cast which includes Bruce Cabot.and John Carradine. Robert Walker, blundering and browbeaten recruit of "See here, Private Hargruve," proudly displays his corporal's stripes in "What Next, Corporal Hargrove offered for your entertainment next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

In it Cpl. Hargrove is taken to France, where he becomes a combat soldier and is almost caught by a Nazi patrol. Keenan Wynn and Jean Porter are also cast. LLANRWST LUXOR Robert Lizbeth Scott and Don Defore are co-starred in You Came Along," principal offering at the Luxor, Llanrwst, on Monday and Tuesday. It is the story of three returned war heroes and the friendship which exists between them.

Principal setting of "Duffy's Tavern," showing on Wednesday and Thursday, is the celebrated tavern of U.S. radio fame. The cast includes Bing Crosby, Betty Hutton, Paulette Goddard, Alan Ladd, Dorothy Lamour, Robert Benchley and other noted stars. The story is of a feud between a cotton mill owner of the old school and an artificial silk manufacturer. and how it even poisons the relationship between members of the respective families. The Play is Performed in a Lancashire dialect throughout. J. Hulme MacKinnon and Lola Willard again score in the leading roles, and excellent sup- Port is provided by Robert Desmond, Helen Powell, Arthur Dallas.

Elizabeth Dawson, Carol Bailey and H. Randle Frazer. "Dangerous Corner." J. B. Priestlay's famous thriller, will be performed next week.

PENMANEMAWR CRESCENT "Wings of the Morning," the screen classic, has been taken from the library of famous films for presentation to Crescent audiences this week-end. Count John McCormack, the film is the story of a racehorse, delightfully portrayed in technicolor.
