Tillicums (from Page B1) Last week the semi-final against Sardis Tillicums', Kristen Smith took a long ball from Tracie Hamm at Centre field and beat the Falcon's keeper with a shot to the far post to give Chilliwack a one goal lead with the game ten minutes old. Karry Kozak made it 2-0 for the Chilliwack side just before the half when her 35 yard shot caught the Sardis keeper out of position. In the opening seconds of the second half, Tamara Carruthers pushed the score to 3-0 after some excellent passing by Smith and Jackie Bryce. Bryce completed the scoring late in the game after being set up by Carruthers. Pat Armstrong earned the shutout in goal. Against Brookswood in the final, sweeper Katherine Fast's well placed pass put Bryce in behind the opposing fullbacks, and the speedy striker gave the Tillicums a one goal lead at the 25-minute mark. Chilliwack dominated play throughout the second half and put the game away when Smith scored with 15 minutes remaining. Ana Trinkaus and Karry Kozak dominated mid-field for the Tillicums, while fullbacks Hamm, Fast, Michelle McPhee, Candy Chapman and B.J. Kozak had outstanding games, especially in the second half. Bodybuilding is his main sport, and the 31-year-old strongman is in training for his first-ever bodybuilding competition, The Okanagans, to be held in Kelowna Sept. 23. He currently weighs 95 kilograms but will compete as an 80 kilogram middleweight. He is currently on an egg-white diet! He works out four days in a row with one off, and each workout lasts two hours. Brooks feels he will have an edge in the posing phase of the upcoming contest having trained in past years with Mike Watson, a former Mr. Canada. The Good Sport of the Week is also an avid boxer and fought as an amateur middleweight in his hometown of Hamilton, Ont. from 1975 to 1982 when a job brought him to Chilliwack. In 1988, he played commercial fastball but he has chosen to spend this summer pumping iron and fine-tuning his body for the Kelowna contest. He will also design a program for novices.
