est Call For Nurses; Men Are Wanted, Too MORE EMERGENCY CALLS. Unable to put on the full quota of nurses at the Emergency Hospital last night, Captain C. E. Waller In. sued an earnest call for more nurses immediately.

"We have room for more patients in the hospital and the situation in Raleigh demands that more patients KO there," Captain Waller said, we cannot care for more patients without more nurses." In addition to the women he is calling for, Dr. Waller makes a call for men to volunteer for the service at the hospital. Likewise there is need today for more ambulance and ambulance drivore, Lieutenant Woodfall who has been volunteer ambulance driver, yesterday was carried 1 to the hospital with influenza. It in suggested that on account of the small number of nurses and the value of time, Raleigh people wishing epidemic have their, their automobiles at the Emergency Hospital between the hours of one and two in the afternoon and six and seven in the evening that the nurses may be carried to their meals and brought back to the hospital without loss of time. Those willing to perform this service are asked telephone the Emergency Hospital, No.

160. The epidemic of influenza has reached an neute stage in Raleigh and health authorities are uniting in counselling the most careful measures of precaution. The disease continues to spread into hitherto unaffected areas of the city. and it appears that not a block within the city limits is to be spared. The death materially increased yesterday when the largest number of victims in 8 single day was reported to the registrar of vital statistics, A total of 12 deaths was recorded.

This number included three at the tank The victims were J. M. Beas ley of 515 Oakwood avenue, Mrs. Fam Ray of 302 St. Mary's street, 8d.

Emory of South Person street, all of whom died at the white emergency hospital: William H. Northrup. Emil A. Reynolds and 3 third soldier of Camp Polk: E. J.

Riley and Jack Rogere, inmates of the State Hospital; Mrs. G. W. Southey at Rex Hospital, and three colored people, one of whom died at the color emergency hosiptal. Sick From Country.

The work of removing the sick from homes to the two emergency hospitals continues, and yesterday the ances were active all day. Both hoppitals are being rapidly filled and the question of increased space has already claimed the attention of the health authorities. The demand for nurses is 11.8 great as ever and telephone calls were maintained from early morning until late at night in an effort to increase the number of volunteers who have already done work ill the hospitals and homes. The two city hospitals are caring for every call from the city while some cases from the country have been re1 moved to the High School. Patient: from any section of the country are accepted when application is made at the hospital, but the work of removing Raleigh cases is so great that it is impossible to spare the temporary ambulances for rural emergency.

However. it is important that the hospitals be notified in advance before rural cases are carried there. The Associated Charities has been of immense benefit in providing groceries and wood to stricken families. Yesterday the man agement of St. Agnes Hospital notified the health authorities that the institution is able to care for a number of additional pneumonia patients.

More Nurses Wanted. The demand for nurses the most important problem now facing the health authorities and last night Dr. Waller asked for more volunteers for this part of the work. So far, less than fifty Raleigh women and girls have volunteered but this number is only very small as compared to the women in the city available for nursing duties. It is estimated that there are 2,000 women in Raleigh who could do untold good if they would only pick 1) the telephone and call No.

460. Entire families have been found in serious conditions during the past fow days and many patients carried to the emergency hospitals constituted a masuch families. Babies are being given treatment in their carriages at the high school, while the age of some patients does not permit them to hardly raise their heads from the pillows. The situation in Raleigh is still serious. Names of Volunteers.

"My first concern as to the election in North Carolina is not personal- is not partisan in the ordinary acceptation of that term--it is, speaking broadly, that such a result may be shown as will leave no doubt anywhere that the people of North Carolina are standing loyally and enthusiastically by the President and the government in the present great tional and world crisis. To this end, and for this cause, I earnestly appeal to patriotic men of all parties in the State to co-operate.

And I wish to express my earnest hope that nothing may happen in the campaign or in the election to weaken the confidence of our people in the cause in which we are enlisted, or in the President of the United States who is recognized, alike by our allies, and by our enemies, as the leader and spokesman of that cause. This destroys it entirely.

To do this just get about four ounces of plain, ordinary liquid arvon; apply it at night when retiring; use enough to moisten the scalp and rub it in gently with the finger tips. By morning, most if not all, of your dandruff will be gone, and three or four more applications will completely dissolve and entirely destroy every single sign and trace of it, no matter how much dandruff you may have. You will find, too, that all itching and digging of the scalp will stop instantly, and your hair be fluffy, lustrous, glossy, silky and soft, and look and feel a hundred times better. You can get liquid arvon at any drug store. It is inexpensive, and four ounces is all you will need.
