Purpose of the organization is to exchange ideas and information regarding spiritual guidance of college students and to give support to each other in their com- efforts, "The campus ministry is so often misunderstood," said the Rev. Kenneth Kucin, director of the Newman Center at Dakota State College, Madison. "The concept of running a local parish and that of a college parish is entirely different. Most people who relate to a local parish often don't understand the operation of a campus parish. Father Kucin said the pur pose of Wednesday's meeting was to open communication channels between church leaders and campus ministers.

The church leaders understood the in attendance role of the campus ministers and shared their concern, said Father Kucin. "The biggest job we have now is to pass along information about what we are doing on the campuses to those members of our local parishes who are asked to support it he said. Church leaders are going to meet at Augustana College at Sioux Falls June 30 and have invited representatives of campus ministers to meet with them again. "I think everybody at the meeting was pleased with the outcome and the fact that the executive leaders of the various churches are sitting down to talk to the campus ministers as a group. This will lead to greater understanding of problems we face," said Father Kucin.

He said letters will be sent to all college presidents by campus ministers to inform them of their organization and willingness to work together with them. "It is imperative to listen to those that will share tomorrow's world that is coming to birth right now," said Armstrong.
