McCollow was official clergyman at the double-ring services. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown having a sweetheart neckline with seed pearl trim and long train. A three-quarters lengtb veil completed the ensemble. Miss Helen Brawand Rockford, the bride's only attendant, donned an aqua moire gown and carried yellow gladioli. The groom's brother, George Cullen, Rockford, served as best man.

Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schuetze. Immediate families of the couple attended the wedding dinner at the home of Mrs. Elsie Gerber at 12:30.

Friends and relatives from Chicago, Milwaukee, Rockford, Beloit, Rock Island, Madison and this vicinity were received at the bride's home at 719 20th avenue. Mrs. Robert Kingdon, who did the dedorating for the nuptial af-! fair, cut the cake. Miss Dorothy Brawand of Rockford and Mrs. H.

Rails Flat Broke Knoxville (AP) American railroads are "flat broke" and face nationalization unless they are permitted to raise fares and freight rates, President E. E. Norris of the Southern Railway said yesterday. During a stopover here, Norris commented in an interview that as a result of the newest cent-an-hour wage increase to non-operating employes, "all railroads in the country are now flat broke." He said unless the interstate commerce commission and the 48 state utilities commissions "rush to their (railroads) rescue" with fares, "the railroads are on the adequate increases in rates and out as 'exhibit A' of Ameriway ca's free enterprise system." METEORS NOT OLD Evanston, (AP) -The same cosmic rays that detonate atomic bombs are now showing astronomers that shooting stars, or meteors, are not as old as believed. This discovery, reported to the 77th meeting of the American Astronomical society yesterday, is considered important in timing the course of evolution and creation of the earth.

SAMUEL HUMBEL Samuel Humbel Wed In Oregon Ceremony White and yellow chrysanthemums decorated the altar of Holy Mother of Consolation church in Oregon this morning for the marriage of Miss Shan Marie Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Collins, Oregon, and Samuel F. Humbel, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Paul Humbel Monroe. The double ring ceremony was performed at a 9 o'clock mass by Rev. Sylvester Van Berkel. The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a gown of white slipper satin, designed with a fitted bodice and full skirt which fell into a long train.

A satin crown held her finger-tip length veil. She wore a strand of pearls and carried a bouquet of white roses and white mums. Preceding the bride down the church aisle were her sisters, Misses Patricia Ann and Mary Ellen, as bridesmaids and Miss Lois Ann Pease, Madison, as maid of honor. They all wore identical gowns of green nylon marquisette over. taffeta, styled similar to the bride's.

Long gloves covered their arms and they carried bouquets of salmon gladioli and baby's breath. They wore wreaths of matching, flowers in their hair. girl, little Sharon Nee, daughter of the Thomas Nees of Madison, wore a white satin gown fashioned like the bride's. The groom was attended by his brother, Paul Humbel of West Bend, a former Monroe resident. Ushers were Gerald and Emmett, Collins, Richland Center, cousins of the bride.

A wedding breakfast was served the bridal party and 75 guests at Community building in Oregon and in the afternoon a reception for 250 guests was held there. Assisting at the reception were Misses Patricia Lapply and Patricia Jens of Oregon. Many guests from Madison and Monroe were present at the wedding.
