dtf ABILENE HIGH SCHOOL NOTES. The cast for the' Senior play has been chosen. All the new books of the high school library are on display today. Among them 'art scrap-books made by Miss nughes, English classes. The English club sold candy and pop-corn at the close of school today.

The subject for discussion in Y. V7 this morning was "The Book Snelf of High School Girls." Examples of the standard novels, histories, biographies, essays and poems were discussed. Subscriptions for the Annual May be obtained until Wednesday afternoon. J. Minges, evangelist, spoke in Hi this morning on subject 'tof "Margins." He said that men who put a margin of good on their life would always win out and he also ex plained that bluffing does not count in after life.

PRAIRIE HILL Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kohler return ed from their wedding trip Tuesday. Thursday evening the Ladies Rural Club gave them a shower at the Yonally home. Dale Halbert visited borne folks Saturday.

Mrs. S. L. Freeman visited with Mrs. Halbert Thursday afternoon.

J. Bedwell was a caller at the S. L. Freeman home Monday. E.

and P. Gymnasium claases have been organized and will meet for the first time this evening at the high scho .1 under the direction of Miss Davidson. The girls gave a eheck of $100 to the Hospital board today as a result of their magazine subscriptions. The next meeting will -be a Thanksgiving party Nov. 27.

A miscellaneous shower was given at the home of Mrs. Barcus last evening in honor of Miss Jane Par-mentier, whose marriage to MrrFloyd nolcomb occurred today. The main a i ji i jieaiure oi me evening was a mocs wedding. Tasty refreshments were served to twenty-five guests. Miss Parnientier received many beautiful presents, which spoke of the high esteem in which she was held by her many friends here.

Parmentier-Holcomb Miss Jane Farmentier and Mr. Floyd Ilolcomb left this morning by car for parts to themselves we believe. However they expected to be one by evening and are to be the quests of the brides' mother in Barrett, at a wedding din ner this evening. If all went well they expected to be married in Junction City and after a short visit with the brides parents will return here for a short stay before leaving for Wichita where they will make their home. Mrs.

Ilolcomb was assistant Red Cross nurse at the Red Cross rooms before her marriage. Although she has been here but a comparatively short time sho can number her friends by her acquaintances. Mr. Holcomb is a brother of David Holcomb of this city and has made his home here with him since lastj spring. Mr.

Holcomb is a former student of the McPherson College but i has recently been employed at the Belknap Grocery store. He is now connected with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and will be stationed in Wichita. His friends are many and join in congratulations and wish them success and happiness in their wedded life. CARLTON and Mrs. Patterson and who have been visiting relatives near Gypsum returned here the first of the week for a stay with relatives.

Arthur Patterson and wife motored over from Tampa and spent Sunday at the Lewis Amann home. Roy Phillips who underwent an operation a the Abilene hospital last week is expected home in a few days Law Mortimer who is attending high school at Slina was home over Sunday visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Mortimer. Frank Van Voorst is having the John Baxter house he recently purchased repaired which will soon be ready for rent.
