Wilson TUSCOLA Frank B. Wilson, 64, Houston, Texas, formerly of Tuscola, died Friday (Dec. 11, 1992). Arrangements incomplete: Waddington-Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola. se speaker House, and later joined the Illinois Prisoner Review Board.

He served until his death. Redmond's proudest achievement as a lawmaker was setting aside an area in his home county for recreational development, his daughter said. Redmond's early political career in DuPage County got off to a rocky start as he lost races for state's attorney and state representative. A native of Chicago, Redmond was the son of a railroad executive. He finished Marquette University with an engineering degree in 1930 and then graduated from Northwestern Law School.

During World War II, Redmond left his Chicago law practice to join the Naval Reserve. Schmitt SHOBONIER John F. Schmitt, 80, Shobonier, died Thursday (Dec. 10, 1992). Member: Shobonier Baptist Church.

Saturday. Burial: Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Memorials: Fayette County Heart Association or donor's choice. rmer William ELM HURST (AP) William Redmond, a 23-year state legislator who served as House speaker from 1975 to 1981, died Friday. He was 84.

Redmond entered Elmhurst Memorial Hospital on Thanksgiving, one day after his birthday, because he had breathing problems, said one of his daughters, Colleen Redmond. Months earlier, Redmond was diagnosed as suffering from congestive heart failure, she said. He died at the hospital early Friday, said his daughter, who was at her father's bedside. "The last thing he told me was he loved me," she said. Redmond, a Bensenville Democrat, began his House career in 1959.

He married Mary Ann Ray on June 4, 1971 in Union City, Tenn. He was employed as a correctional officer at the Lincoln Correctional Center and was a former employee of Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria. He was a former Atlanta Cub Scout leader, former Atlanta Little League coach, former Atlanta Rescue Squad member, a member of BMW Motorcyle Owners Association, the American Motorcycle Association, Atlanta Masonic Lodge 165 and Atlanta United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; stepmother who raised him from infancy, Gladys Boyd of Lincoln; son, Christopher Ray Boyd and daughter, Heather Lynn Boyd, both at home; brothers, Ronald of Lincoln; Thomas of Mapleton; stepbrother, William Sahs of Lincoln; stepsister, Patsy Kenning of Lincoln.

He preceded her in death. She later married Aud Walters. Surviving are her son, Jamie Davidson and his wife Mary of Decatur; daughter, Shirley Barker of Argenta; grandson, Tom Barker and his wife Lillie of Oreana; great-grandsons, Jeffrey and Jeremy Barker.
