Reder again made good with his conversion. During this drive a 12-yard plunge by Fullback Bob Warren and an 18-yard sprint by Ewaliko helped set up the scoring play. Howie Lorenz had starred the drive by returning a CPS punt 28 yards. The Loggers amassed but One real threat, that in the second quarter. They gained a first down on WU's 10 and then Bob Wood crashed to the five.

The latter kicked two put of bounds on WU's two and four yard lines, and Slanchik holed out once on the five to put CPS in a bad hole. Both kickers averaged over 40 yards. Each team made eight first downs and WU had the best-of the net yardage, 163 to 131. Each side completed One pass, WU for one yard and CPS for 11 yards. The directors also decided to play the post-season Governors Cup series in 1948. There had been discussion on the possibility of abandoning the post-season play, and considerable argument about the regular season, whether to shorten it or even to lengthen it to 200 games.
