Jan. 5th, at 7:30 in Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church. At that time the Eastern Shore Public Service will conduct a cooking demonstration. There no charge for attending, but door prizes will be awarded by the company and they will also give the organization something for each person in attendance.

To make this project a success they must have a good attendance. Plan to attend- it will prove to be a most interesting and worthwhile evening. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Grogan entertained during Mrs.

James F. Christmas Mr. Cheezum and Mr. and and Mrs. Samuel Hunt and family, Easton; Miss Katherine Baker, Philadelphia; Mrs.

Ormond Baker and family, of Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Rodman Seese and family, and Mr. Henry Baker, all of Denton. Mrs.

Ormond Baker and family were guests of her father-in-law, Henry Baker, over the holidays. She and her children are leaving on Jan. 13th to join her husband, Sgt. Ormond Baker, in Germany. Mr.

and Mrs. Eugene I. Seder and children. Rufus and Diana, of Southington, were Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs.

George A. Butler. Mr. Seder returned home on Sunday, but his family remained for a week's visit. Miss Louise Gray spent the Christmas holidays with Mr.

and Mrs. W. E. Thawley, of Chatham, Wilmington, Del. Mr.

Robert Pepper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aldridge Pepper, of Second is spending the Christmas holidays his parents and other relatives and friends here. After New Year's he will return to his studies in Washington Missionary College, in Washington, D. where he is a student.

Dr. and Mrs. Herbert S. May tin and sons, Richard and Ronnie, spent the Christmas holiday in Baltimore. Mr.

and Mrs. Louis C. Butler and daughter, Miss Janet Lou Butler, are spending part of the holidays in Florida. Clarence Beauchamp, Miss Mildred Beauchamp, of near town, and Mr. Ross Robinson, of Federalsburg, spent Christmas Day with Trpr.

DEATHS MRS. IVA MURPHY Mrs. Iva Murphy, 79, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nolan Edwards, of Greensboro, on Sunday, Dec. 25, after a long illness.

NORMAN THAWLEY E. Norman Thawlcy, 77, formerly of near Federalsburg, passed away in the Maple Grove Convalescent Home, Millsboro, on Wednesday evening, Dec. 21, after a lingering ill- and carpenter and was a member of Concord Methodist Church. lie is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Liden Thawley Mrs.

Grace Bullock, Mrs. Myra Whcatley four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Elva Lyden, of Federalsburg. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock in the Framptom Funeral Home, with Rev. John Irwin, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, Millsboro, officiating.

Interment was in Concord Cemetery. A L. WARNER Charlos L. Warner, of Millinglon, died Thursday, Doc. 22, in the Kent General Hospital, at Dover.

Mr. Warner was a carpenter. Ho is survived by a son, Floyd, of Ken ton, three sisters, Mrs. Harry Dulin, of Chester; Mrs. Charles Bilbrough, of Greensboro; and Mrs.

Mary Ford, of Clayton, three brothers, Harold, of Townsend, William, of Church Hill; and Spencer, of Cenlreville; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at tho Edward Fellows Funeral Home, Millington. Homo, Ilurlock. Ho is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Noble Kelly, and grandson, Noble K.

Kelly, both of Preston. MRS. SARAH E. BROWN Mrs. Sarah E.

Brown, 83, of Hickman. died on Thursday of last week at Federalsburg. She was the widow of the late S. P. Brown, and is survived by three daughters, Helen E.

Zimmerman, of Seaford, Hazel B. Taylor, of Denton, and Hester A. Brown, of New York City; and two sons, W. Covey Brown and W. Reesp Brown, both of Denton; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Berry Funeral Ilome, Harrington, with Rev. Roy Phillips, former pastor of the Hickman Church, officiating. Interment was at Hollywood Cemetery, at Harrington. ARTHUR JOHN MESSICK Funeral services for Arthur John Messick, 88, long a county Republican leader, a cannery owner and a farmer at Bethlehem, who died on Christmas Eve, were hold Wednesday afternoon at the Carroll funeral establishment, Easton, with the Rev. Charles C.

Huffman, pastor of Beth- csda Methodist Church, Preston, officiating. Mr. Messick was a member of the Masonic Lodge and former director of Provident State Bank, Preston, but lived most of his life at Bethlehem. He died at the Fisher Nursing RICHARD R. SMITH Richard R.

Smith, who would have Keen 51 Friday, died Sunday morning at his home near Hickman. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Angie Smith; one son, Robert Smith, a home; five sisters, Mrs. Rella Anthony, of Greensboro; Mrs.

Rhoda Wooters, of Milford; Mrs. Frances Allen, of Ridgely; Mrs. Mary Dawson, of Ellendale; Mrs. Ruth Brown, of Dover; three brothers, Herman Smith, of Greenwood; John Smith, of Eldorado, and Clarence Smith, of Havre de Grace, Md. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Fleisch- Funeral Greenwood.

MRS. J. FLETCHER HIGNUTT Mrs. Nettie L. Hignutt, 61, wife of J.

Fletcher Hignutt, died Saturday evening, their 39th wedding anniversary, at her home in Federalsburg. Mrs. Hignutt taught elementary school in Caroline County.
