They buy their harvest offerings At Mr store So Mr Grundy cannot wait For autumn to arrive It causes all his sales of fruit And vegetables to thrive As villages buzz round his shop Like bees around a hive The shop bell rings from dawn to dusk The door is never shut As Mr Grundy revels in This annual money glut And hopes next year his wholesalers Will take a smaller cut The final apple leaves its box The shop at last is still He counts his autumn profits With an avaracious thrill Then celebrates his harvest home By buying a bigger till i I I Autumn fashions are in the shops and the emphasis is on wel l-ta i i red simplicity Bottle green and rich reds look set to be the season's colours along with ever-popular navys and black Swirling bold paisley prints checks and tartan and chocolate cord have made a welcome reappearance too For skirts the tapered look is still tops with hems touching the knee or stopping just above it For the 'weekend in the country' look full flared skirts ending on the calf are the answer Neat Marks and Spencer long recognised for their high quality clothes are reflecting the season's most classic cuts in their new range of autumnwear They have produced a range which looks snappily up-to-the-minute but which won't be out of date next year Highlights of their collection which will be available at 110 stores are the smart suits and jackets aimed at the working
