The operators state that they believe the flow of this well will increase as did the flow of their No. 4 on this tract. The Magnolia Petroleum company's Marshall Collins in Stephens county i flowing 250 barrel of oiL The drill ers are cleaning out the hole after a shot given it at a depth of 3485 feet. Though bridged the well Is flowing by heads. It is expected to increase its production when cleaned out.

The Texas company has a good flow In its well on the J. Littleton tract. No estimate has been made as yet. Desdemona, Texas, Sept. 17. The Humble Oil company has completed its No. 7 Ellison In the Desdemona field with a daily production of 40 barrels. This company has two other good producing wells on this tract, Jnst south of Desdemona.

The Sterling Oil company's No. 2 Vaught is producing 400 barrels of oil dally from the top of a pay eand encountered at a depth of 3557 feet. The tools are still in the hole. This well is on the outer edge of the Vaught tract. North of the Sterling's Vaught No.

2. In the Gorman district, the CroweU. Feagln and Gant well on the Cypert tract is making iO.OOO.OOO cubic feet of gas from a sand encountered at a depth of 2488 feet. Operators are watchlnir this test with Interest. In dications are that it may develop Into makine 1000 barrels.

In Lincoln county the Jennings iceH in section 19-14-5 has a showing of oil in two sands, the first encountered at 1600 fest the second aat 1300 feet. Drilling' was stopped when the second sand was encountered and the well Is being cleaneu oat. It is making about 40 barrels or oil at present.

A large number of companies hold leases to land in this vicinity, but until the discovery of oil In this well nothing promising has been en countered in this district, although drilling has been going on off and on lor a numoer or years. The treasury department collected 5 per cent of the rental paid by owners of oil wells to transport their oil to the refineries. The sum collected is 3i.lC8.3CS.99 In excess of the J1.433,3;:.6t raised during the year 191S fiscal year.

In all the pipe lines have paid 1T.035,-013.21 toward paying the cost of the war. It is known that a very large percentage of the 1919 taxes were paid by Texans, but at the treasury it was said the exact figures for Texas will not be available until commissioner Roper of the internal revenue department submits his final report to secretary of the treasury Glass. SALT WATER APPEARS IN WELLS IN RANGER REGION According to an Eastland. Texas, report the States Oil Cftrporatlon's T. T. Butler well a mile north and a little east of the PJeasant Grove church In the Banger field. Is now flowing 2500 to 3000 barrels of salt water and practically no oil.

The well Is 3495 feet deep and Is said to be less than 10 feet In the sand. It Is also reported that the Sammies 011 Corporation's Thorp well In the Gunslght district In the southern part of Stephens county. Texas, is now flowing nothing but salt water. This well is In the shallow sand at around 1800 feet in depth. SUNSHINE COMPANY INSTALLS OIL ENGINE AT PECOS WELL; The Sunshine OU corporation Is having an oil engine Installed for drill-! Ing the Laura well about six miles from Pecos, Texas.

Drilling was suspended for several weeks so as to make this change. It is also reported the engine had arrived for the Victory well of the same company, located In Ward county. Texas. It' had not been installed at last report from Pecos. Magnolia Company Makes Find at Shallow sand With Harris Property.

Eastland, Texas. Sept 15. Harris No. 2. The sand from which the Connelle well is producing was struck at 1404 feet, a considerably less depth than at which the sand was struck In the Harris welL Ths Maimolia Petroleum company purchased the tract on which thu well is for a tank farm site. When wells surrounding the site began showing so excellently the Magnolia decided to drill They did so, bringing in the No. 8.

The Old Homer Oil Pool In Louisiana Is Extended Shreveport, Sept. 15. In the southern part of the old Homer shallow oil field, the Rowe OH company has a well capable of producing 000 barrels from a depth of 2100 feet. Owing to the shortage of storage facilities the well is being pinched considerably below Its possible production. The discovery well on the east edge of the shallow pool is making 1300 barrels per day in its pinched condition.

This well Is owned by the Standard company, estimates the well is good for 7000 barrels. Much activity in this district has resulted in a rusn for acerage and conseauentlv has raised the nrlcea sky high. The Homer shallow field now has 40 shallow producing wells, which are producing a total amount of about 4900 baarrels daily. TO REFINE OIL FROM MEXICO IN EUROPE It Is Stated that the Brltlnh VT lean Petroleum company, the foreign marketing organization tor tne Mex ican Petroleum company, is to build oil refineries in Europe. This will call for Increased shipments from the Mexican oil fields of the producing company named.

GENERAL COMPANY SPUDS IN ITS FIRST DEEP TEST the hole hare been Operators have been watching the Jim Ned and Thomas wells for some time as the portion of Coleman county In which they are located has not been considered a favorable location for oil wells. These two wells open an entirely new field, northeast of Coleman, which promises some very good producers.

Judging from the two wells already flowing. For three months the Thomas well was shut down and when It was opened up for bailing last week it was full of oil Both wells are below 3000 feet. Just across the Taylor-Jones county line, and it contains the first showing oi ou yet encountered In Jones county. Though the showing Is very small It Is of vast Importance to Jones county since It Is eltuated so great a distance from any other production The drill Is on the sand and the drillers are now underreamlng for the eight and one quarter inch casing.
