Reds Improve Athletic Team United Press International MOSCOW, July 7. The Soviet Union will be represented by stronger athletic team in this year's traditional track and field meet with the United States at Los Angeles, July 25-16, than at last year's event here, according to team Coach Gavril Korobkov. In an interview with the Soviet news agency Tass, Korobkov said "even the absence of world long- jump broad jump record holder, Igor Ter Ovanesyan, who is sick, will not affect the overall potential of the Soviet team.

"This does not mean, however, that we are bound to repeat our last year's success when our athletes won the largest victory in the history of the matches. We are clearly aware of the fact that at Los Angeles we shall meet team of much higher class than we received in Moscow, there is going to be close struggle." Players Okay 'Free' Pay TV United Press International NEW YORK, July 7. Pay-television is agreeable to the major league ballplayers as long it doesn't cost them any money. The Major League Baseball Players' Executive Council decided yesterday that it would not hinder the start of pay-television in Los Angeles on July 17 as long as it didn't affect revenue from World Series and All-Star games. "The players decided it would enhance the salary negotiating positions of Los Angeles and San Francisco said Judge Robert Cannon, legal counsel for the players.

The Giants also plan to institute pay TV this season. "They felt they had no objection to pay-TV as long as it did encroach on the revenue the players receive from World Series games and All-Star games," Cannon added.
