Walker pa Hern magnate, magazine figure SCOTTSDALE Services for former dress pattern magnate Max Herzberg, 83, who founded the Pictorial Review magazine at age 17 in Pennsylvania, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School.

Burial will be irrthe Bronx, N.Y. Mr. Herzberg, 5610 N. Scottsdale, died Sunday in Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. His magazine was sold to William Randolph Hearst in 1933, (he year he became associated with the Simplicity Pattern Co.

Later he was a partner in the American Pattern Co. He was credited with creating the presses that make dress patterns and was called the "father of the dress pattern." During his career he made 85 trips to fashion openings in Paris. and was awarded the French Legion of Honor. His daughter, Mrs. Victor Galea, also received the French Legion of Honor.

She and her husband, a former governor of Malta, were host to President Roosevelt on his trip to the Yalta Conference in World War II. At one time Mr. Herzberg and the late mayor of New York City, Jimmy Walker, owned shares in an apartment building. Born in Berlin, Mr. Herzberg came to the United States when he was 17.

He had resided in Scottsdale the past two years. He retired at age 80. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Fisher of New York City and one in Canberra, Australia; brothers and sisters in Europe; two grandchildren and a great grandchild. Gustav F.

Hcini PEORIA Gustav F. Heim, who had been a hammer man for the Ford Motor Co. in Canton, Ohio, before coming to Arizona in 1940, died Monday in Lincoln Hospital; Phoenix. Mr. Heim had lived in Peoria since 1955.

He was a member of the Rod Gun Club. He was born in Lisbon, Ohio. Survivors include a brother, Henry of Salineville, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Lena West of Athens, Ohio. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Friday in Chapel of Chimes, 5852 W. Glenn Drive, Glendale. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Glendale. Services for Ernest Henry Walker, 76, will be at. 12:15 p.m.

tomorrow in Universal Memorial Center, 1100 E. Jefferson. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in the mortuary by the William H. Patterson Elks Lodge 477 and the Prince Hall Maricopa Masonic Lodge No.

1 funeral committees. Buridl will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Walker, 104 N. 12th died Monday in Memorial Hospital.

He came to Phoenix in 1925 from Butte, after Army service in World War I. He formerly was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. He founded the Arizona Barbers College in 1946 and operated it for 15 years. He was a member of the Moslem Shrine Temple, 79, the United Supreme Council 33 of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, and a 25-year member of the Elks.

He was born in Arkadelphia, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite; a daughter, Mrs. June Abbington of Spokane, a son, Mack Bowen of Kansas City, and a brother and two sisters out of state. Betty Glover Services for Mrs. Betty Glover, 46, who died Sunday in Phoenix General Hospital, will be at 3 p.m.

tomorrow in Sunset Chapel, 301 W. Camelback. Burial will be in Floral Lakes Cemetery, El Mirage. Mrs. Glover, 4808 W.

Holly, was born in Paris, and came here in 1966 from Kansas City. Survivors include her husband, Archie; a son, David; two daughters, Linda and Diane Glover, 'all of Phoenix; her father, Elmer Enfield of Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Frances McLaughlin of Phoenix, Mrs. Dorothy Mabray of Needles, a brother, Joseph R. Enfield of Phoenix and two grandchildren.

Stella Louise Guy GLENDALE Mrs. Stella Louise Guy, 80, of 7549 N. 61st died Monday in Phoenix General Hospital. Mrs. Guy was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved here 12 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Smith of Glendale; a sister, Mrs. Lois Pitkin of Phoenix; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Memorial services will follow at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in St. John's Lutheran Church, 7205 N. 51st Ave. Friends may call from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Barber, 23, who was found dead in his car parked in the desert near here on Monday, will be held at 2 p.m.

today in the First Southern Baptist Church, Mprenci. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery. Mr. Barber was bom in Sheridan, and came to Arizona from Montana in 1954. He attended the Clifton schools and was a two-year U.S.

Navy veteran. He had been employed as a construction worker. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Anna Belle Barber of Clifton; his father, John Barber of Lodge Grass, i maternal grandmther, Mrs. Rita Corbell of Clifton; his paternal grandmother, Mrs.

Lillie Barber of Tacoma, and one brother, John, of Clifton. Pete Grbavac' MIAMI Mass for Pete Grbavac, 79, a retired miner who died Sunday in Gila General Hospital, Globe, will be said at 10 a.m. today in Our Lady of the Blessed 'Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Croatian Plot, Final Cemetery. Born in Yugoslavia, Mr.

Grbavac came to the United States and Arizona in 1910. He resided in the Globe-Miami the past 54 years. There are no known survivors. William Noxon HOLBROOK Services for William 0. Noxon, 63, who died Friday in Holbrook Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m.

today in St. George's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Holbrook Cemetery. Mr. Noxon was born in Oil City, Pa, and came to Arizona in 1944, moving to Hoi- brook 12 years ago.

He worked as a meatcutter in the Safeway Market in Winslow. Survivors include his wife, Judy, and three sisters out of state. Artie Mae Nicely Rites for Mrs. Artie Mae Nicely, 63, who died Monday en route to a Phoenix hospital, will be at 1 tomorrow in Sunset Chapel, 301 W. Camelback.

Burial will be in East Resthaven Cemetery. Mrs. Nicely, 4102 Granada, was a member of the Heart to Heart Hour Chapel. She came to Phoenix about 20 years ago from her native Osborn, Mo. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.

Leona Hargraves of Phoenix, Mrs. Hoi- lis Allen of Norwalk, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. David L. Anderson David L. Anderson, 54, director of Trans World Airlines in Southeast Asia before becoming ill, died yesterday in St.

Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Anderson, 1209 E. Escondido Drive, returned to the U.S. last March from Thailand for medical treatment and to Phoenix in August 1970.

He was a Marine veteran of World War II. Survivors of Mr. Anderson, a native of Lorena, include his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Harriet Anderson of Santa Barbara, and Kathryn Anderson of Flagstaff, and a brothter of San Diego. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Christ Church of the Ascension, 4015 E.

10021. Frederick C. Mulling SUN CITY Frederick C. Mullins, 74, a retired engineer who had been with the Koppers Co. in Pittsburgh, died yesterday in Northwest Hospital, Glendale.

Mr. Mullins, 10131 Riveria Germany, came here in from Pittsburgh. Survivors include his wife, Helen. Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Lundberg's Sunland Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd.

Burial will be in Sunland Cemetery. Thomas P. Walton Thomas P. Walton, 62. a former osteopath who was brought to Phoenix 60 years ago, died yesterday in a local hospital.

Mr. Walton, 1518 S. First was graduated from Phoenix Union High School, attended Phoenix College and was graduated from an osteopathic school in New Jersey. He was born in Cleburne, Tex. Survivors include a son, Phillip of Phoenix; a daughter, Carolyn Walton of Los Angeles; and a brother, Marshall of Prescott.

Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Church of St. Anges, 1954 N. 24th St. Friends may call after noon today in Whitney Murphy Funeral Home, 330 N.

Second Ave. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Robert L. Stamper Services for Robert L.

Stamper, 46, who was in the real estate business in Phoenix from 1959 to 1969, will be tomorrow in Dayton, Ohio. Burial will be in Dayton. Mr. Stamper died Thursday of a heart ailment in Nashville, where he had lived the past two years. He served as an Air Force pilot during World War II.

He was born in Dayton. Survivors include his wife, Joan of Scottsdale; two sons, Jeffrey and Robert; five daughters, Catherine, Nancy, Amy, Mary and Meg, all of Scottsdale, and his mother, Mrs. Marguerite Stamper of Dayton. Jerome Phillips Sr. John Del Vecchio Sr.

Gilbert S. Anderson Edwin P. Fisher CASA GRANDE Services for Jerome K. Phillips 71, who died Monday in Hoemako Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Cols and Maud Mortuary here.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born in DeKalb, and came to Arizona 23 years ago. A retired mechanic, he lived in Casa Grande the past 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; six sons, Gene, Jerry and Roger, all of Casa Grande, Harley of Phoenix, Stanley of Guaia, and Jerome Jr.

of Hobbs, N.M.; four daughters, Mrs. Vera Spowehn of Mendicino, Mrs. Wilma Dossey of Houston, Mrs. Dorothy Berger of Ft. Worth, and Mrs.

Louise Ballard of Paris, two sisters out of state, 21 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. Maria Paz MORENCI Rosary for Mrs. Maria Paz, 78, who died yesterday in Morenci Hospital, will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Caldwell Chapel by the River, Clifton. Mass will be said at 10 a.m.

tomorrow in Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in Bunker Cemetery. Mrs. Paz was born in Las Cruces, N.M., and came to Arizona in 1940. A 30-year resident of Morenci, she was a member ofBeneficio Propio. Robles, 1633 E. Adams, came to Phoenix 40 years ago from his native Sonora, Mexico. Survivors include his wife, Romona; a son, Gilbert of Phoenix; five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Ochoa and Rosie Robles, both of Phoenix, Mrs. Teresa Rivera and Mary Robles both of La Puente, Mrs.

Virginia Hernede of Azusa, 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Gilbert S. Anderson, 58, who retired in 1966 as a customer service representative after 16 years with the Salt River Project, died yesterday in Doctors Hospital. Mr. Anderson, 815 N.

52nd had owned a band at one time in Phoenix. He was a member of the Musicians Union, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, and Sherwood Baptist Church. Born in Donnybrook, N.D., he came to Phoenix in 1946. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two sons, Douglas of Los Angeles, Terre of Tucson; two a Mrs. Paul Sappe of Phoenix, Mrs.

Charles Claunch of Germany, two brothers of North Dakota, and four grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Paradise Chapel, 3934 E. Indian School. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery.

William H. Knight William H. Knight, 59, a structural steel worker who was a member of Iron Workers Local 75, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital. Mr.

Knight, 2210 N. Ninth was a member of the Bible Baptist, Church. Born in Greenville, he came to Phoenix 26 years ago from Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; a son, Doyle of Luke AFB; a stepson, Howard S. Scott of Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs.

Dorothy Barrett of Greenville; five brothers and three sisters out of state; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

MESA Edwin P. 73, who had been a soda fountain supply salesman in Fort Smith, died yesterday in Mesa Southside Hospital. Mr. Fisher, a native of Kansas City, came here in 1968 from Ft. Smith and lived at 5652 E.

Covina. He was a veteran of World War I. He belonged to Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Geneva; a son, Edwin Jr. of Massachusetts; a daughter, Mrs.

Anna Mae Howard of Tampa, three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carlos Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Mrs. Constance Freeland of Indianapolis, Mrs. George Pavek of St. Paul Park, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Larry J. Melcher Mortuary, 43 S. Stapley. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m.

Born in Mexico, she moved here 50 years ago.
