given of building at the earliest practicable time the sit bridges needed to complete the east side state highway between Red BluiT and Los Moltnos This was the word brought back from San Francisco where Supervisors George A Hoag and Alex McCullagh Surveyor Chan A Lunlng and Auditor George De-Shlelds appeared before the California State Highway commission with reference to bridge matters In this county As a result of the conference It was agreed the state will build the six bridges without expense to Tehama county if the county will pay 15 per cent of the cost of constructing the Cottonwood bridge The commission adopted a resolution to that effect This will mean a saving to the county of approximately $60000 for building the six east side bridges and for the construction of which It Is planned to begin work later In the summer The estimated cost of the proposed Cottonwood bridge Is $65000 Construction of the six bridges on the east side highway will close that number of bad gaps
