Jlatfh, Ilttiuon Mid Smith are Nulla Wilder Is All Right IfeOaadless FlreH Hot Shot, The Executive and Advisory Councils of the Republic of Hawaii met at 1:30 this afternoon. President Wilder In the chair.

Those present were: Ministers Hatch, King, Damon Smith, and Councilman Waterbouse, Molte, F.mnieluth. Allen, Tenney, Mendonca. Nott, Kua, Young, and McCandless. Minutes of last meeting were read und approved. The Minister of Finance read the weik'y financial statement.

Mr. Einnieluth said that he was told on the streets today that unless water was furnished the inhabitants of the slopes of Punchbowl some member of the Government would recieve some bodily injury. (Laughter). Referred to the Minister of Interior. Minister Smith read a letter fiom Cecil Brown amnnonnolng his resignation from tho Councils to accept the nomination for the Senate.

TlieSecretary read a similar letter from Mr. W. C. Wilder, and Councilman McCandliss verbally presented his. These, together with the one of Mr.

Waterbouse previously sent in were accepted. Minister Smith drew attention to the necessity of electing a new Chairman to act until the Legislature meets. Mr. Tenney nominated Mr. Ena.

The latter declined and nominated Mr.W. V. Allen. Mr. Allen was elected.

Mr. Emmelutli Wanted to say a word. He thought that members should now, just before election, declare themselves again on the question of annexation To this Mr. Hatch said: "I am glad of tho opportunity to define the Uovem-nienps position in the matter. The politics of this Government can he expressed in one word, 'annexation.

During the existence of this Government there has been that issue. The Government was established on that, and there haB been no doubt or question 1111 "ie part of the Government in the matter. There seems to he some doubt about the matter with the press, but there is none with the Government." (Loud Ap plause.) Mr. Damon wished to make a few remarks: "Every one in the movement started out on the plat form of annexation. Some, however, and I hope they are hut few and of not much iullu-ennce, seem satisfied ith the present condition and seem to be indifferent as to the expediency of annexation.

But the great issue is hat we must adhere to. It is the question of annexation which holds all elements in this community together. The logic and wisdom of the thing is coming to our enemies and we can not awerve from the principle. It is sound in principle, sound from every practical point of view and like the old Roman 1 wish again to bind myself tiriuly to the question of annexation. Minister said the moving power behind the revolution was political union with the Cnited States.

We have stood upon that clear, clear, firm, unequivocal ground, if we are mistaken in this, we were mistaken from the start. The Councilmen are resigning to enter the Senate and there to work for annexation. Mr. Wilder said he was glad to hear the Ministers so express themselves, though there had never been a doubt as t. their position in the mailer of an nexation.

He had hut one aim and one end in politics: that was annexation, lie would work for that until il was attained. (Applause.) Mr. McCandless, as one of the rank uud lile, wished to thank the Kxecutive for their straightforward statements on the great issue. Some doubts have been expressed as to where the Ministers stood; hut the statements of to-day would place than before the people so that the latter would stand by and protect them with ballots or bullets as circumstancea require. At 3:10 the Couucila adjourned.

Mr. Lansing then asked why it was that the medicines were advertised in the nanie of Mrs.

Miss Oliver replied lhatshe herself: was agent -for the Hawaiian Islands for Yiavi specials, but as Mrs. Galloway had 1 frequently lectured in the interests of the remedies the advertisements were placed in the papers over her name. Dr. Wood hated to bring personalities into the matter, but an agent of the Viavi house had gone lo one of bis patients and advised her to try the remedies, Miss Oliver replied that if such was the case it was wrong.

President Smith said there was no more barm in selling patent medicines than selling luces, or powders, or hardware. Dr. Day stated that a card on Miss Oliver's door specified Office hours. Miss Oliver replied that such a notice existed, but was considered nothing more than an announcement of the limes at which the office would be open. ir.
