George Goetz 74, Lifelong Wesleyan, Dies George 0. Goetz, 74, and a lifetime Wesley resident, died at the Britt Hospital Sunday evening. He had been a patient there for just a day and death was attributed to a heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Wesley with Rev.

Joseph Kerwin officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery and the Blake funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were nephews John Ricke, Edward L. Johnson, Edward Thissen, William Goetz, Dean Ricke and Dennis Vitzthurn.

He was born at Wesley Dec. 30, 1899, son of John and Mary Bruer Goetz. He was educated in the Wesley schools and married Clara Ricke at Wesley on Feb. 1, 1932. The couple farmed near Wesley their entire life until retiring and moving to town in 1965.

She survives as do three children: Agnes, Mrs. Frank Kisch of Wesley; Arlene, Mrs. Richard Reising of Bode; and Paul Goetz of Omaha, Nebr. There are eight grandchildren and two sisters and two brothers; Mrs. Helen Johnson, Wesley; Dorothy Goetz, Mason City; Joseph Goetz, Wesley; and Henry Goetz of Ida Grove.

Also surviving is a halfbrother, Frank Lindenmeyer, Hammond, Ind. One sister, one brother and three half-brothers preceded him in death. Mrs. Andrews, 81, Titonka, Dies July 14 TITONKA Mrs. Howard (Anna) Andrews, 81, died Sunday morning, July 14, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church, Titonka, and burial followed in Evergreen cemetery, Wesley. Rev. Herbert Hanson officiated at the rites. Pallbearers were K.D.

Andrews, Ted Hoover, Gary Hoover, Dixon Young, Henry Peterson and Roger Hoover. The Blake Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Andrews was the daughter of Asle and Emma Halverson Brunsvold and was born March 4, 1893 at Lake Mills, Ia. On December 29, 1920 she was married to Howard Andrews at Mason City.

She taught in the rural schools of Iowa for 37 years. She is survived by her husband, Howard; 1 son, Capt. Donovan Andrews who is with 1 the U.S. Navy at San Francisco, 1 daughter, Phyllis, Mrs. George Shurson of New Richland, 5 grandchildren, and two sisters, Miss Lovey Brunsvold, Lake Mills, and Mrs.

Evert M. Simons, Wilton, No. Dak. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Services Tuesday For Stillborn Algona Baby Stanley Thomas Black, infant son of Mr.

and Mrs. Stanley Black, Algona, was stillborn Monday at Mercy Hospital, Mason City. Services at graveside were held Tuesday morning with Rev, John Vakuiskas officiating and Wilson Funeral Home handling arrangements. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include seven brothers and five sisters besides the parents and grandmother, Mrs.

Bob Gillingham, the Vern Bormanns, Gerald Bormann and family, the Morris Bormanns of Whittemore. the Harold and Richard Bormanns, West Bend, Sister Mary Emilie, Chicago, and Father Charles Bormann of Varina. 0. ELBERT REUNION One hundred eight people attended the reunion of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Peter Elbert held at Dorweiler Park July 6, Attending from Whittemore were Mr. and Mrs. Andy Elbert, Mr. and Mrs. George Elbert.

Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City, is spending a sixweek vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Besch. DEAN'S LIST Mark Besch, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Besch, was named to the Dean's List at the University of Iowa in the College of Liberal Arts for the second semester. John Vigdal and Steven, Minneapolis, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Vigdal, last Monday. Francine O'Brien, who is working in Dubuque this summer, spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Edmund O'Brien. Bob Momen, Des Moines, was also a guest at the O'Brien home. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sebers and family, Rochester, spent the weekend at the home of his mother, Mrs.

Dorothy Rosendahl, and his grandmother, Mrs. Art Heidenwith. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kirsch spent last weekend in Kansas City visiting at the home of their son, Marlin Kirsch.

Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greinert were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Maahs and family, Des Moines.

Loretta and Marcella Fandel returned from a visit with relatives at Morton, Metamora and Peoria, and Iowa City, Newton and Nevada, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roeber, Heidi and Heather of Jamestown, N.D. spent last weekend with his parents, Mr.

Jordan Rites Friday Joseph P. Jordan, 61 of Los Angeles, a former Algona and Irvington area resident. died Saturday at the Veteran's Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. He had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m.

at the Geilenfeld-Schaaf chapel with Father John Vakulskas officlating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Algona. Pallbearers will be Jerry and Jim Jordan, Jerry, Charles, LeRoy and Skip Weber. He was born Jan. 29, 1913 at Boone, son of A.L.

and Lulu Jordan. He graduated from Algona high school in 1931 and from the Hamilton Business College at Mason City. After completing his business course at Mason City, he worked at the Los Angeles County Hospital where he did clerical work. During World War 2, Mr. Jordan was in the 36th Infantry Division and spent two years overseas during which time he received a number of citations.

Both parents are dead, his mother passing in 1972. He is survived by a brother Leo Jordan at Clear Lake and sisters Ella, Mrs. Alvin Weber of LuVerne and Edna Jordan of Des Moines. Ex-LuVerne Couple Has Silver Wedding Mr. and Mrs.

Donald L. Miller, Mason City, formerly of LuVerne, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary July 14. The event was hosted by their children: Tom, on leave from the Army at West Point, N.Y.; Gloria, on leave from the Navy at Los Angeles; and Terry, at home. A buffet luncheon was served at noon. Guests were from Bradgate, Clarion, Des Moines, Bancroft, Clear Lake, Mason City, Algona, Sargeant, Hayfield, Cuba City, Wise.

Mr. Kueck, father of Mrs. Miller of Algona, remained in Mason City for a few days visit. Larry Kueck Family Visits From Calif. Mr.

and Mrs. Maynard Kueck, rural Algona, had as their guests the first week in July their eldest son, Larry, and his family of Reseda, Calif. They were all joined by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Feaster and Shelley at a July 4 picnic at the Raymond Nelson home in LuVerne.

A Saturday evening picnic was held at Smith Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Duane Kueck and Doug of Des Moines joining them. On Monday evening they were all supper guests at the Richard Feaster home. Larry Kueck and family left their home Jules 10.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kueck and family were unable to attend the get-together. Lynn Kueck is now attending Stanford University at Stanford, Calif. FOOT Ten-year-old Scott Wagg, of Winfield, lost his left foot in an accident at his home recently.

He was kicking corn into the grinder-mixer while grinding corn for the pigs and caught his boot in the auger. Doug Kollasch, Ledyard, Marries Nurse From Conn. LEDYARD Douglas John Kollasch of Ledyard and Renee Marie Saucier of Hartford, became man and wife in a Roman Catholic ceremony on May 11, 1974. Rev. Lee Cummings performed the ceremony at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Hartford.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Saucier and Mr. and Mrs. A.J.

Kollasch of Ledyard. The bride's father gave her in marriage attended by Ellen Saucier of Hartford as maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Lois Stulpin. Ms. Becky Hockenbery of Long Beach, Calif.

was moderator of the Mass. Dale Kollasch served the groom as best man. Ushers were Sal D'Atri and Wait Piszchala both of Hartford, Conn. Both are friends of the brides family. Dennis Kollasch was ring bearer.

Mr. R. Leslie Childs, Mr. Art Spineti, Ms. Karen Sobanski, and Ms.

Loni Vann, of the South Catholic Glee Club sang the wedding songs, which were accompanied by Mrs. Jane Aronikian. The reception was held at the Les Gourmets Rendezuous in Newington, Conn. The newlyweds honeymooned at the Hotel Sonesta in Hartford before traveling cross country to establish themselves in Carlsbad, Calif. The groom is presently finishing out his time in the U.S.

Navy at Camp Pendelton, Calif. The bride is an R.N. in Oceanside at the hospital. Simonson Elected To Head Whittemore Legion July 8 WHITTEMORE Stuart Simonson was elected of the Seely-Walsh Post No. 425 of the American Legion at a meeting held Monday evening, July 8.

Others elected to office were Mike Elbert, first vice commander; John Marte, second vice commander; Dan Foley, third vice commander; Jerry Walker, finance officer; Donald Fickbohm, adjutant; Bob Gengler, service officer; Ray Betts, sergeant-at-arms; Merlin Schmidt, chaplain; Leo J. Elbert, historian; and Norman Parsons and Don Anderson, executive committee. The new officers will be installed at the August meeting. Carl Schmidt, newly-elected county Legion Commander, will be installed at the county meeting in Bancroft July 18. BABY BAPTIZED Mr.

and Mrs. Marvin Erpelding were sponsors at the baptism of Jeanne Colette Cahill, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cahill of Nevada. The Erpelding family went to Nevada last weekend for the baptism.

Others who spent the weekend there were 0- Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bode of Wesley visited Mrs. Lydia Bisenius and Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Kollasch Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schott of McGregor and Mrs. Bernice Barry of Mapleton arrived Wednesday for a visit at the Edmund O'Brien home.

They returned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Delagardelle, Annette, Joy and Michael, Cedar Falls, visited Mr. and Mrs.

Philip Destival last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Delagardelle are the parents of Mrs. Destival.

Michael remained for a 10-day visit at the home of his sister. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Casey and family of LuVerne visited at the Marion Hyink home Sunday. Mrs.

James Besch WAS hostess for the "Jolly 500" Club Tuesday. Mrs. Matt Erdman won high; Mrs. Lucy Besch, second high; and Mrs. Wm.

Besch, low. Mrs. Dennis Sill of Algona and Mrs. Wm. Besch were guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gengler and George Gengler spent last Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ristau at Lake Cornelia.

Mrs. Leo Kollasch was a guest of the Joe King family for dinner at Van's Cafe in Algona. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Elbert and family, Iowa City, spent the weekend at the home of Mr.

and Mrs. Marion Hyink. Mrs. Elbert is the former Rosalie Hyink, Debbie Munger of Algona, Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Cahill. Ft. Dodge, and Mr. and Mrs, George Streit of Whittemore. The Streits remained for a longer visit with their sonin-law and daughter, Mr.

and Mrs. Tom Cahill. 0 GEELAN VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Jack Geelan and family left Sunday for their home in Chicago, Ill.

They came two weeks ago for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Geelan, and to vacation at Lake Okoboji.

Jack Geelan returned to Chicago a week ago while his family remained at the lake, He flew back Friday to attend the 20th reunion of his Presentation Academy class Saturday night at Algona. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Geelan and the Jim Geelan family of Algona were also at Okoboji.
