Joseph Blackburn officiated, Andrew R. Baker was the organist and accompanied Thomas Powers of Chicago, who sang. The bride's gown of white peau de crepe, was fashioned with tapered sleeves, a portrait neckline Alencon lace and an bodice. Godby-Bennett Rites Read In Duluth Marjorie Helen Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

James Bennett of Duluth, former Sault residents, became the bride of Neal A. Godby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Godby of Sheridan, Ind.

at a recent ceremony in St. Paul's Epsicopal Church Duluth. Mrs. Frank J. Bislow of Virginia, the bride's sister, was matron of honor.

Bruce Bennett of Duluth, brother of the bride, served as besl man. A the English room of the Hotel Dululh followed the ceremony. The newlyweds are residing at 2010 S. Westnedge in Kalamazoo. Bolh received master's degree's from the University of Michigan April 30.

Mrs. Godby has accepted a position as an assistant to the dean of women at Western 'Michigan University at Kalamazoo and Mr. Godby is Kalamazoo assistant city manager. BRIEFLY Loretto Mothers Club will meet Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Lorelto High School.

Arriving by plane Monday was Mrs. Gordon W. Foole of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Foote, the former Dorothy Jensen of this city, will be here for an extended visit with her sister, Leo J.

The foodhandlers clinic has also been canceled for Thursday afternoon June 30 and will be held on Friday afternoon July 1 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. No foodhandlers examinations will be clone at the morning clinics. Father "Mike" offered a special mass last night at St.

Joseph's Church where he has been assistant for the past two years. Following the mass and Father's blessing, about 300 persons gathered for a social hour in the parish hall, where they met his replacement, the Father Ray- mond Hcefgen. Receptions Sunday, evening honored the other priests, 'one at Nativity Church Hall for Bares, who has been pastor there, as well as superintendent of' Loretto High School. Father Bares is now at St. Mary's at (Norway, Mich, where the parish is just completing Holy Spirit Central Grade School along with its neighboring parishes.

Father Bares is being replaced at Nativity by Father Arthur Parrotta. Father Desrochers also was honored Sunday evening at a parly in Baraga Auditorium. Now assigned to St. Peter's Cathedral at Marquette, he is being replaced at St. Mary's Church here by Father David Jenner.

Spriggs, was announced as the FS Volunteer of the Month for May. Mrs. Spriggs earned the award for her work on the office and welcoming committees. She is a relative newcomer to FS, having taken her first orientation courses at Kincheloe in November, 19G5. She received her 100-hour guard in April, 1966.

Spriggs resides at Lot 69 ETC with her husband and three children. Capt. George Sokolsky, Personal Affairs officer, and Mrs. Fred Koch, coordinator, also presented the following awards: three- month pin, Mrs. James Smith: 100-hour guard, Mrs.

Charles Heller, Mrs. Larry Matthews and 'Mrs. John Rice; 250-hour guard, Mrs. Donald Ede: guard, Mrs. Boyce Rhyne; iOOO-hour guard, Mrs.

Robert Nelson; two- year stripe, Mrs. Ralph Backa; three-year stripe, 'Mrs. Arthur Holdcrness 'and five-year' stripe, Mrs. James Thompson. Out-going chairmen were presented silver charm discs in appreciation of their services in the past six months.

Engagements TIANO SMITH Mr. and Charles Tiano of Bridgeport, Conn, announce the engagement of their daughter, Diane Elaine, to Larry Gordon Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon H. Smiti of Osborn Subdivision.

A wedding April is being Miss Tiano is an alumna of Central High School in Bridgeport and attended Butler Business School and the American Institute of Banking. She is employed by the City Trust Company in 'Bridgeport. Mr. Smith, a 1962 graduate of Sault High School, has served in the U.S. Navy for the past font- years as an electronics technician aboard the troop transport USS Chilton which is presently on duty in the Mediterranean.

District Association of the Order of the Eastern Star at Hancock recently when the Hancock-Calumet chapters were hosts. Mrs. Helen M.
