Survivors include a nephew, Vernon Wright of Texas; a great-nephew, Loy Cletcher of Peoria; and a great-niece, Floy Bullock, also of Peoria. Funeral services will be at 10 Saturday at the Aly Funeral Home in Ed-dyville. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in the Rock community of Pope County. Mr. Grott was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, the Holy Name Society of that church and the Knights of Columbus. He was born July 26, 1896, on Kas-kaskia Island to Roman and Thresia Hesse Grott. He was married Nov.

23, 1920, at Prairie du Rocher to Lena Elizabeth Bessen, who preceded him in death. Survivors include four sons, Ken of Sedalia, Mo. Don of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lowell and Dale both of Chester; three Cushman of Salem, Patricia Schulte of Mount Vernon and Bonita Towers of Freeburg; two sisters, Anna Poniske of Chester and Thresia Sebastian of Ellis Grove; and 19 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Two sisters, six brothers and two grandchildren also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the Welge Funeral Home in Chester.

Hickey, 65, of 1133 Roosevelt Harrisburg, died at 6:02 a.m. today, Jan. 8, 1980, in Doctors Hospital in Harrisburg. Mr. Hickey was the public relations director for Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative.

He was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Harrisburg. He was a veteran of World War II. He was born on Sept. 16, 1914 in Tennessee, to Howard and Ella Cox Hickey. Continued cold Milder weather is expected until areas will be colder.

Area murder suspect may have fled country yburn McCluskey dies A 27-year-old West Frankfort man sought on a murder warrant may have fled the country into Mexico. Franklin County authorities reported today the search for William Bondi, a West Frankfort coal miner charged with killing his wife, Genevieve, 51, has shifted to California, to Arizona and now into Mexico. A murder warrant was issued last Woman gets probation $200 fine in forgery case A Marion woman was sentenced Monday to 30 months probation and a $200 fine after pleading guilty to four counts of forgery before circuit Judge William A. The woman has made restitution for those three checks, according to Williamson County State's Attorney Charles Garnati. The other half will be repaid by a juvenile who was also convicted in the forgeries, Garnati said. Lewis sentenced her to two terms of three years each to run concurrently with each other and with terms of three years and one to three years on drug charges in Jackson County. The woman was accused of forging the name of a doctor to a prescription presented at Parks Pharmacy in Marion to illegally obtain drugs Oct. 29 and of unlawfully purchasing the drug the next day.

Steven Petryniec Steven Petryniec, 57, of 403 S. 14th Herrin, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 1980, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion. Mr.

Petryniec was a retired engineer for the City of Chicago Municipal Water Department. He was a veteran of World War II; a member of the Herrin Senior Citizens; and a member of the Logan Square Chapter 40 Disabled American Veterans of Chicago. He was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Chicago, to Michael and Josephine Spornak Petryniec. He was married Aug.

5, Chicago, to Betty Lou Gosnell. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Brenda Van Mere of La-Grange Park, and Joan Lucas of West Frankfort; a son, Steven Andrew of Chicago; his mother of Chicago; four sisters, Marie Adamise, Ann Stachura, Olga Flynn, and Helen Bogacki, all of Chicago; and seven grandchildren. 7, 1980, at Union Hospital in West Frankfort. Mrs. Howe waa a retired telephone operator. She was born March 29, 1905, in Ga latia, to John and Mittie Jones Stokes. Her husband, Charles, died in 1939.

Man charged in shooting Harold A. Martin, 58, of Route 2, Mul-keytown, was held by Franklin County authorities today under a charge of aggravated battery in connection with the alleged shooting of a neighbor during an artument Monday afternoon. Franklin County authorities said David L. Reams, also of Route 2, Mulkey-town, was to undergo surgery today in Memorial Hospital in Carbondale for a bullet wound in the arm. Police said Reams was reported in stable condition.

Martin was arrested at his home shortly after the 5:05 p.m. incident. Police said Reams was shot with a .30 caliber rifle. Franklin County authorities said Martin made a verbal admission of the shooting, and said it followed an argument in Martin's car parked at Reames' home. Police said Martin told arresting officers: "He wouldn't get out of the car so I shot him." Miner's car vandalized The front and rear windows of a Creal Springs miner's car were smashed and the glove box emptied early Monday while it was parked at Freeman No.

4 mine in northeast Williamson County, according to the sheriff's department. Robert L. Sullivan told authorities the incident had occurred between midnight Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday while he was working. He listed no items of value in the glove compartment and will be preparing an estimate of damage, authorities said.

Authorities also said windows were shot out of two rural Carterville homes with either a bb or pellet gun between Sunday night and Monday morning. Both Earl Renner of Route 3 and Margaret Forbes of Route 2 told authorities one window had been shot out at their homes. Renner said he had heard a strange noise about 8:30 p.m., but hadn't found the broken window until Monday, authorities said. Collision injures two Two Perry County men are in satisfactory condition today at Pinckneyville Community Hospital after a 4 p.m. Monday traffic accident.

Logan College student was found in his car dead of carbon monoxide poisoning about 3 p.m. Monday in an abandoned strip mine area near his Carterville home, according to Williamson County Coroner James R.

Wilson. The death of Douglas S. Kuehn is presumed to be a suicide. So inquest has been scheduled yet, the coroner said. Mr.

Kuehn was last seen Sunday night by friends, who reported he drove away in his car between 11 and 11:30 p.m., Wilson said. A mailman found the car still running, parked in an area east of Green-briar Road and north of Grand Avenue. Plastic tubing clamped to the auto's exhaust system led through a car window, Wilson said, and towels were stuffed around the slightly open window. "It looked like he bought the equipment specifically," the coroner said. Mr.

Kuehn was a student at John A. Logan College. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Vandalia. He was born Sept. 18, 1959.

College Marion, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 1980, in Marion Memorial Hospital. He was born in Williamson Countv on Sept. 3, 1898, to Tom and Lana McBride Miller.

He was married to Lillian Chamness on Dec. 23, 1922, in Williamson County. Mr. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Teamster Local No. 347.

He was a retired employee of the Howard Casey Wholesalers in Marion. Survivors are his wife; and a son, Albert Miller of Hutchison, Kan. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Hughes Lemasters Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Carl 'Chick' Hargis Carl "Chick" Hargis, 48, of Route 3, Benton, died' Monday, Jan. 7, 1980, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton. Mr.

Hargis was a coal miner. He worked at Old Ben Mine No. 24. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local No. 1345, and a member of the Crawford Church of Christ.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was born March 27, 1931, in Buck-ner, to Millard and Olive Williams Hargis. Survivors include his wife, the former Florine Overturf; his mother; two daughters, Kelly and Gina, both at home; a son, Mark, at home; two brothers, Hariey Hargis of Gilbertsville, and Dave Hargis of Buckner; and three sisters, Diana West of Gilbertsville, Ledora Parrilli of Chicago, and Mary Ellen Brown of Richland, Mo. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna. She was born June 2, 1894, in Union County, to James and Rena Yates Fox. She married John W. Johnson, who preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1972.
