diehard fans had hoped for but sure to de- cide it's better than nothing Joy Young now has opened a food court site at the Midtown Food Court in the new parking deck behind the Libery National Insurance building downtown The River Market and Deli also has opened shop in the food court but I we were drawn to the divine aroma of Joy Young entrees the weekday wp visited for lunch The lunch special (1350) includes I a sweet and sour selection an entree and brown rice You can add an egg roll for $1 One of us tried the sweet and sour i shrimp with sesame sauce and the Mongolian chicken The other tried the sweet and sour chicken with tra-dltional sauce and the Mongolian beef We both had an egg roU rf -Our sweet and sour dishes were excellent Both meats were tender wjth just the right amount of I crdnchy coating Neither was over-' fried Of the two sauces we liked the sesame a little better since it as sweet as the traditional sweet and Jsour We also gave high marks to the spicy Mongolian entrees Both had -tender meats crunchy vegetables land fiery (but not atonic) sauces (W were slightly put off by the -mushrooms in both dishes which kxfced like canned to us) brown rice was Young again the River Market and restaurant offers meats and vegetables and a selection of hot and cold sandwiches Breakfast also is served Our total tab was 81263 The Midtown Food Court should draw sizable lunch crowds from the Kirklin Clinic the University of Alabama at Birmingham and other office buildings in that area Some diners will be there because convenient to their workplace Others will
