Mrs.

Ollie Little read a paper prepared by Mrs. Paul Martin on "Chief Roads to Peace," which pointed out the trends of our na tion from the Treaty of Ghent to the present-day United Nations, to and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith. Mrs.

Bride-Elect of Bill Pollard The engagement of Miss Ja Nell Ruth Pietsch to Bill J. Pollard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pollard of Gatesville, has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Louis Pietsch of Moulton. Miss Pietsch is a secretary for the Steck Company in Austin. She attended Texas Lutheran College, Segiiin, where she was affiliated with Sigma Tau social sorority and Phi Theta Kappa, honorary scholastic fraternity. The prospective bridegroom is an accountant for Howard T. Cox and Company, Austin.

Earl Ashby and Mrs. R. E. Ashby were co-hostesses at a tea shower Saturday afternoon at the Earl Ashby home on Main Street honoring Miss Margaret Hancock, bride-elect of James McGlothlin. The couple will be wed Nov4.

In the receiving line with the honoree were her mother, Mrs. S. Hancock; her aunt Miss Era Hancock; Miss Jo Marie McGlothlin, sister of the prospective bridegroom; and Mrs. W. B.

Cummings, his aunt The table, covered with a hand chocheted cloth, was centered with an arrangement of white gladioli and pink carnations flanked by white tapers. The table also held miniature bride and groom figures. Roses and queen's wreath decorated the party rooms. Cake squares, nuts and pink punch were served by Misses Rae Juan Lee and Fayrene Cummirigs.
