Page 11C The Gaffney Ledger, Wednesday, March 19, 1980 'To Fly I Movie Gives Feelings of Flying On Seven-Story Screen Viewing the film, "To Fly," is in a sense to fly! More than that, it is flying presented in several different ways, beginning with a lazy ride in a gas-filled balloon in 1813, barn-storming in a biplane, traveling at supersonic speed in a jet, soaring in the silent world of hang gliding, and blasting off into space in a rocket-all Critical acclaim for "To Fly" has been overwhelming. Time: "So realistic that some viewers get airsick." Business Week: 'To Fly' is a must." Los Angeles Times: on the giant screen especially designed for the IMAX images with their pin-point sharpness and their implication of a third depth dimension, 'To Fly' is a thrilling tour of the skies and of earth's bounties seen from the skies." Washington Post: "Spectacular!" Saturday Review: "The really hot ticket is for 'To Fly'. Magnificently photographed, it is not to be missed." portion of the new center as an exciting addition to the scene. "The film 'To Fly' has been immensely popular wherever it has been shown, and there are IMAX theaters at several locations in this country and around the world," he explains. "The one housed in the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.

which features 'To Fly', is one of the city's most visited attractions." "There is no question that the reaction to Gatlinburg Place's IMAX theater and 'To Fly' will be significant. The film is one of the most exciting and spectacular experiences a viewer could have!" "To Fly" was produced and directed by Greg MacGellivray and the late Jim Freeman, working in close cooperation with the originator of the IMAX giant-screen concept, Graeme Ferguson. Many locations were covered with sequences shot over New England, Niagara Falls, the Appalachians, New York City, parts of middle America, Alaska, California, Hawaii and Cape Canaveral. incredibly realistic and thrilling visual sensations that leave audiences breathless and spellbound. "To Fly" is the IMAX film that is shown on a screen 90 feet wide and seven stories tall.

It will be the principal attraction at Gatlinburg Place, the new family entertainment center that will open next Spring in that resort city, the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains. Using a projection system that employs 70mm film which has an image size 10 times greater than conventional 35mm film, the Gatlinburg IMAX will also have a six-track stereo sound system four screen channels and two surround channels that envelopes the viewers with sound and help create the sensation of being "inside" the picture. Actually, "To Fly" is a history of flight in America, but it also depicts the other changes and transitions that occur simultaneously with progress being made in the air. As such, there are emotional and nostalgic elements intermingled that add a special flavor to this magnificent production. Charles Baker, President of LeConte Corporation, developers of Gatlinburg Place, sees the IMAX theater Model of IMAX, complete with seven-story movie screen.

"When we began a search for old peaches we had no idea we would be so lucky," says Clemson researcher George Carter. Last summer Carter and co-worker Jere Brittain were among those looking for information on the controversial nematicide, DBCP, a product that has since been CLEMSON A jar of peaches sat quietly on a dusty shelf in Edgefield County for 31 years before emerging to deepen a continuing chemical mystery. It was one of the scores of containers put up 20-25 years ago or longer which came in on an appeal from the Clem-son Extension Service for peaches which might be used Replace Your Winter-Damaged Antenna with The Archer Supercolor Special suspended for most uses by the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

DBCP is a fumigant injected into the ground to control nematodes on several crops. Without it, the state's $50 million peach crop is extremely vulnerable since there is no alternative treatment once the trees are planted. Carter and Brittain were finding something that looked like DBCP residue in many of their tests. What, they wondered, would they find if they could test a food grown before DBCP was used in South Carolina agriculture. Knowing that DBCP was not available for research in the field until 1952 and was not released for public sale until the mid-1950s, they began a hunt for old canned goods in the peach areas where a lot of DBCP was used to protect trees.

There were many men who preached the word of God. In the Old Testament we read of such great men as Noah (Genesis 6-8), "preacher of righteousness" (II Peter and a long list of prophets and teachers who proclaimed the word of God. Elijah's greatness was such that he was present at the transfiguration of Jesus, along with Moses the great lawgiver (Matthew The New Testament was written by, and contains the accounts of, numerous men who proclaimed the Gospel (Study especially the book of Acts).

Twelve men were chosen by the Lord to be his special witnesses and messengers (Matthew See also Acts Yet, none of these men ever wore, or were referred to by the title, "reverend," When one turns to God's word, he does not read of a "Reverend Noah," a "Reverend Moses," a "Reverend Elijah," a "Reverend Peter," a "Reverend Paul," or a "Reverend" anyone else. I cannot be compared with any of these great men. If they were not worthy of such a title as "reverend," neither am I. Neither is anyone else. Truly, the word, "reverend," is found in God's Holy word only once.

In a psalm of praise to the Lord in Psalm 111, the psalmist writes In verse 9, "He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name." The Holy Spirit, in guiding the writers of the scriptures, used the term, "reverend," only in reference to God. It would be presumptuous on man's part to do differently. There is no scriptural authority for a preacher to apply the title, "reverend," to himself, or for anyone else to apply any title to a preacher. See Matthew Jesus commands, "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ." Only God and the Son are worthy of religious titles.
