Page 9A The Gaffney Ledger, Friday, January 18, 1991 EnateirtaaB memitt Films sponsored shown Wednesday, Jan. 23 and "Chaplin's The Gold Rush" will be shown Wednesday, Jan. 30. Both films will be shown at 7 p.m. and the public is invited to view these films free of charge.

The names and dates of films to be shown in the following months will be announced later by the Student Government Association. The Student Government Association is sponsoring a Spring Film Festival with the theme "History of Film." Ten films will be shown between now and April in the Eastwood Library located at 113 Hamrick Building, on the Limestone campus. "Murran's Nosseratu" will be Converse College: January 21 Soprano Beverly Hay and pianist Douglas Weeks will present a special recital program entitled, "An Evening of Lieder" at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall. The two members of Converse College's artist-faculty will per-miere their collaboration with lieder (German word for song) by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann and Richard Strauss.

The recital will open to the public without charge. January 24 The Converse College Film Society presents "Claire's Knee," at 7 p.m. in Hartness Auditorium. Directed by Eric Rohmer, it is one of his famed Six Moral Fables in which the philosophical director explores the meaning of love, commitment and temptation. This color film was produced in France in 1 970.

Film Society presentations are shown free of admission charge and the public is invited to attend. The Apollo Club of Gaffney: Wednesdays Amatuer Night, chance to win $500.
